A photo tribute to my youngest sister Rene (14Jan1966-17Oct2013) and my first photography model.

Rene was incredibly comfortable in front of my camera which was an invaluable gift to me when I first branched out from nature photography to explore outdoor portrait photography.

Rene nudged me out of my comfort zone of taking family snapshots and started me on my path of offering personal portraits that celebrated the real emotions, bonds, and connections in each couple or family.
Rene’s encouragement to explore portrait ideas and her willingness to pose for me, drove home the importance of choosing the location, having an idea of what images we want, as well as injecting some fun and spontaneity into a portrait shoot.

Why the name Pink Turtle, well both my sisters shared a love and connection with turtles.
…….and Pink, well pink was Rene’s signature colour.

Thank you, Rene, for pushing me out of my comfort zone and encouraging a professional work ethic to match my passion for photography.
Thank you, Carol, for trusting me all these years to photograph you and your family and for your love and support as we navigated life without Rene.

........and we're back
Great day celebrating Jaci & Tim's engagement.
Can't believe the tiny baby I held in my arms on the day she was born has blossomed so beautifully into the lovely, warm, confident young woman we see today.
Absolutely thrilled that Jaci and Tim will share their love and lives together.

Frog portraits
Last year we were walking on crunchy dry grass with bushfires all along the coast.
This year the rains have returned and we've got frogs everywhere.

Frogs in watering cans, fence posts, bromeliads, and even our mailbox.
Joyful sights and sounds.

Always been an outdoor girl. Feel very grounded and completely myself when I'm out in nature.
Mother Nature is sometimes magnificent but often she is just the trees, veggie garden, lily pond, or potted flowers, or a patch of grass in your own backyard.
Just because we have to self isolate for awhile doesn't mean we have to miss out on being in nature.

Portraits of Mother Nature
Like everyone else we've been spending quiet time at home. I've enjoyed exploring the images from our July 2019 trip to Alaska, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island. Many times we were in the middle of pristine wilderness and completely off the grid by choice.
Pink Turtle hopes you enjoy these portraits of Mother Nature.

Many of Pink Turtle Photography’s most beautiful portraits have been a happy blend of preplanning the portrait shoot with a generous helping of spontaneity.
This portrait on the steps was a concept that was completely planned and Pink Turtle loves the result. This beautiful timber staircase is at the core of the house and the steps link all the levels of Carol and Jay’s new home. The staircase begins in the family living room right next to the kitchen and leads up past cosy bedrooms to the master bedroom on the top floor. Coming down the stairs you are invited into joyful conversations, delicious family meals, spirited card games, curling up with a book, or simply enjoying a movie together. Carol and Jay are the heart and soul of their family and this staircase is the heart and core of their family home.

Today we are showcasing a lovely portrait of Elen and the two brumbies she adopted recently. Mai and Ra are very lucky to have Elen as their human and these two girls have settled into their new life beautifully. Pink Turtle Photography is looking forward to hearing all about the equine assisted work they will be doing together.
