โ„๏ธOne Year Ago - Northern NSW Snowstorm 2025...โ„๏ธ
๐Ÿ“ธ Guyra, Ben Lomond, Black Mountain
1 year (and a day) since the great Northern New South Wales snowstorm of 2025. An amazing event which was fun for many, but became a bit more serious as the day went on. Up to half a metre of snow in some areas which was the most since 1984. Here's a quick video I put together of a few different snippets, mostly from the dashcam. Starting in Guyra during the morning. Enjoy!

๐ŸงŠ Cold and frosty at Walcha ๐Ÿฅถ
A very cold start today 24/07/26 in Walcha, Northern NSW - down to -6ยฐ! I set out for a few photos once I layered up and the windscreen had at least partially defrosted. The temperature was above freezing for much of the night due to a light breeze, but it plummeted after 1-2am. Okay, I need to defrost now!

*Impressive Fogbow*
A crisp cold morning in Gulgong this morning! Plenty of fog about, with lots of fog and frost - I recorded a minimum of -3ยฐ. Always love to spot fogbows, and this one was nicely defined. Currently on a driving holiday and I'm about to work out where I should go today! Have a great day all.

๐ŸŒŠBig Surf at Coffs ๐ŸŒŠ
I'm in Coffs Harbour today and battled gale force winds while grabbing a few shots at the breakwater. It was certainly a spectacular sight when the bigger sets came through! A selection of photos in no particular order.

๐Ÿ“ธ Heavy Snow on the Northern Tablelands
Black Mountain August 2, 2025
Looking back at that amazing snow event on the Northern Tablelands last year. I've taken plenty of photos over the years at the famous Black Mountain Train Station (about 1300m ASL) but this was easily the most snow I've seen there. This photo was taken at about 11am but at least 10-15cm more snow fell during the following few hours. Unfortunately it caused plenty of issues. Of course this winter I'm hoping for more snow events, but there doesn't need to be that much snow again that's for sure.

๐Ÿ“ธ A beautiful Sunrise at Uralla ๐Ÿ“ธ
On a recent road trip through the northern half of New South Wales I stopped at Uralla, and just had to get out and photograph the sunrise. I've been there many times over the years, and the sunrise on May 4 did not disappoint. Beautiful still conditions with wispy mid to high level cloud and valley fog. Dangar's Lagoon was the first place I went to, and the bird life was amazing. Many different varieties with black swans the highlight.

The Standing Stones in Fog
๐Ÿ“ธ Glen Innes, May 6, 2026 ๐Ÿ“ธ
I've been on a 2100km road trip through NSW this week, discovering areas I'd never been before, and back to many places I had. I've visited the Standing Stones on many occasions, but this was the first time I'd seen it in fog at night! It was quite an eerie scene, and it was surprising because it wasn't foggy at the motel room just a few kilometres away. Over the course of 15 minutes I took a bunch of photos with the lights behind doing a great job at backlighting the scene. Then all of a sudden with a few gusts of wind... that was that. The fog was gone.
Photo Details: F5.6 | 1 Second | 24mm. I adjusted the white balance pre shot to give more of a blueish tinge.

Some low to middle level cloud moved through at the perfect time late today, leading to a very nice sunset. Some crepuscular rays made an appearance too! I'll add a wider angle shot in the comments :)
