Leilani spotted me right as she arrived for her surprise proposal...

"Oh cool, there's a photographer here!"

Luckily I was just a *random* member of the public taking landscape photos of the view nearby and she walked on past unsuspectingly, commencing her date with Nathan.

PHEW!

15 minutes later, they reached the spot.

I think it's safe to say it was a genuine surprise judging by the freefalling iPhone 😂

If you haven't visited the Stockton Sand Dunes before, this is a must visit location only a stones throw north of Newcastle! And just check out the colours of the sunset we got!!

The sand sits like giant waves through the landscape, and from the right spot, looks like it goes on forever. So keen to bring a boogey-board here next visit just to ride the sand slopes!

Alex & Matilda were so much fun and up for all the ideas that naturally pop into a photographer's head when you're exploring such a unique location as this is. Thanks for being keen to hang out together into the evening - neither of us wanted to wrap up early and leave!

It was the week of winter solstice, but the gardens at Glenleigh Estate still have such a beautiful charm to them with avenues of trees and immaculate hedges! We could have easily spent another hour exploring around; but alas, those short winter days meant that we soaked up every last bit of daylight we could!

Not only did we have morning fog setting the atmosphere, but some backburning in the local area also brought blue smoke for an added challenge!

Three generations all gathered for this extended family shoot, and we had the whole reserve to ourselves to experiment with different locations. The last photo we even brought along the sandals for to get a reflection shot from the middle of the river itself (and Mim grabbed a great BTS shot)!

Some things are worth getting up early in the morning for! Yes, it was cold and involved a short bushwalk - but check out the sensational views that made it all worth it!
