Took my son Sam offshore from Brissy on Sunday in Little Rippa. The bar was cranky but we eventually made it through and enjoyed a great day on the water. The fishing was slow in close but we persisted and ended up with some nice jew, pearl perch, Moses perch and a few dolphin fish. Sharks again taking their fair share and making it super frustrating.

It's been a while with Wicked Marine Electronics so busy, but we managed to head north and fish off the Bunker group around New Years. Being this time of year around the full moon I knew the sharks would be a problem but it was next level bad with the majority of the better fish eaten no matter where we went. I mostly fished away from the crowds on newly found small/flat country but we couldn't catch a break, with fish after fish being eaten no matter how many times we kept moving.(Total of 475km covered) It's becoming super frustrating and it's mind boggling where this issue will end up in another 5 to 10 years time. It was still good to get away for a quick trip and we still managed a good feed of red fish and other mixed species for our efforts.

Ran over this rock at 25 knots and spotted a big fish sitting off the side of it on the furuno 295. Went back and dropped a bait on its head and hooked up instantly. After a wicked fight this fake red hit the surface and to say I was spewing was an understatement 🤣 gee Chinaman go hard.

The Bruce Highway is the gift that keeps on giving 🤦‍♂️ No trailer dramas this time, just a lovely big rock to the 8mm toughened glass boat windscreen. The goat track never disapoints 🙄

Back at Hamilton island for a Holiday with the boat. Some GTs turned up for a feed in the marina with one an absolute horse 😳😎

Myself, my Dad and my kids volunteered for the Oceans of tomorrow clean up project at Green Island on Saturday. This was organised by Ocean Crusaders and Suzuki Australia Marine and attended by 70 amazing volunteers. We collected over 300kg of rubbish from the Island and finished off with a BBQ lunch. A big thank you to the organisers for a great day and looking after our waterways. We even got ourselves a feed of cuttle fish and arrow squid on the way home 😎👌

I was lucky enough to drive the mothership around and find some crazy dog tooth tuna action and deep drop in 350 plus mtrs of water for flametail snapper, ruby snapper, massive 8 bar grouper and more. All this while dealing with plagues of sharks like we've never seen before. Oh and footage and a pic of an Unidentified Flying Object that we have no explanation for which was soon followed by a mud crab swimming up to the boat 370km from port. Once again I can't thank the legends at Wilson Fishing and Big Cat Reality Fishing Charters for putting on another unforgettable trip with a bunch of legend like minded blokes. Enjoy.
