This photo would have to go into my book of favourite images……for no more than portraying animal stubbornness and perseverance.
The pelicans are standing on a jetty submerged by a a high tide. They are in the midst of a pretty intense squall, the rain is pelting down and they stand facing into the oncoming weather defiantly staring it down never moving until it had passed.
From my shelter it was fascinating to watch.

Big storm overnight……high tide and local flooding. Wind gusts to 104 kph.
Damage to jetties and sea front. Power lines down on Mundoo Channel Drive.
Good rains, tanks full but looking at the rainfall details those that need it the most in the north and far north got nothing.
The goes on.

Thick fog this morning at the Murray Mouth.
Because of its size the main dredge that pumps sand from the mouth entrance has attracted a number of seals. They’ve perched on the pipe that takes away sand. Just silhouettes in the mist

The stunning Elder Range south of Wilpena is the backdrop to the historic Arkaba Woolshed! Built in 1856, this landmark once hosted 40 blade shearers (not the modern day electric wide comb types) who would shear around 35 thousand sheep.
Today, Arkaba is a 60,000-acre private conservancy where the focus has shifted to vital conservation, restoring native species and flora.

Lake Eyre Flood Update! 🌊
Significant floodwaters are now in Lake Eyre, with more flowing in daily! Goyder Lagoon, north of the lake, is completely flooded – a stunning sight with its maze-like channels and vibrant green vegetation. This crucial ecological area will soon be teeming with waterbirds that come from far and wide. 🦢 Seeing it from the air is an unforgettable experience! In fact it’s the only way as most roads and tracks in the area are awash or impassable.

Billy Tea and barbeque lamb ribs on hot coals. No mod cons, done the old fashioned way and just delicious.
Some fencing mesh as a grill , a piece of fencing wire a handle for the billy, a hand full of tea leaves, the ribs and good to go.
