Throwback to this beautiful cold night at this magical spot at the end of Bruny island.
I remember the moment I stepped out if the car and got mesmerised by this SUPER bright milky way. Spent the next hour or two trying different compositions while also trying not to freeze cuz Tassie winter 🥶

I was super happy with how this one turned out ✨

We’ve had a super cold few days so wouldn’t be surprised!

Mountain stroll
I was told the view is nice 😬
I guess I’ll have to return.

(Disclaimer: these are definitely not accurate colours. It’s just me having fun like the good old times)

A plastic poncho flapping hard in your face, a fierce wind moving the poncho leaving you nearly deaf, a strong horizontal rain that makes it hard to see. The perfect conditions to take this photo.
In all honesty I really enjoyed seeing this incredible place in this weather. I felt like this is the real face and sunny days are just a rarity like when you wake up fully rested (like what is that)
Thanks for letting me join you in this adventure .whone

A little throwback to 2017 when my wife Gi and I were backpacking around Asia.
This time we were camping two nights to the side of this volcano which we found out about days before and were told it was incredible. Indeed it was and later we found that it is actually a very popular spot in Indonesia. Mt Bromo
We honestly didn’t feel it was as popular back then since we didn’t see much people about and when we told the locals we were going to camp there, they looked at each other and then at us like 🤷‍♂️👍
We camped the first night at the base of the volcano (you could hear the deep rumbling from inside the volcano at all times which was fascinating and scary at the same time).
The second day we paid a local which offered to drive us up the valley in his motorbike. Three people and two “moderately” big backpacks in one motorbike made the trip a VERY sketchy one and you can see my face of fear when going up. I was putting my life into grabbing the few inches of metal from the bike I had available to secure myself. Wouldn’t recommend it.
We both made it safely to the top where we camped and got ready to witness one if the most incredible sunrises we’ve ever experienced.
(I wish I knew how to capture it better at that time 😅)
The final image is us catching a ride in the back of a local’s truck who generously offered to take us out of the national park.
This whole experience was definitely one of the highlights of the whole trip around Asia.
