A very famous region of sky this nebula complex is called Rho Ophiuchi.

A super giant red star on the left is illuminating it's surrounding dust and the same dark dust without the reflection can be seen on the right with some blue reflections from younger hotter stars.

An amazing region of our galaxy.

This is imaged with a new smaller Astro camera setup and a sigma wildlife camera lens.

Re working a little bit of old data with some new techniques. This is the same object I just shared but instead of full colour it's narrowband imagery taken with hydrogen, oxygen and sulphur filters.

The fighting dragons of Ara and the fire within. I've been working on this one for about a week. Multiple nights imaging and quite a few hrs at the computer compiling this 98 megapixel 2 panel mosaic.

My trusty 10" newt coupled with the mighty qhy600.
16.5hrs total integration with 10 of those hrs going to luminance.

New project I'm working on. This is The Rim Nebula in soon to be broadband colour lrgb.

This is just my first nights luminance data or black and white. I've shot 3 nights so far for close to 20hrs all up and I'll be composing a full colour image in the coming days.

Often shot in narrowband I thought I'd try something different and go deep in broadband to see what other dusty bits are hiding and it's turning out nicely revealing a lot of structures.

Fair bit of work went into this image. It's total resolution is 144mp comprising of a 3 panel mosaic and about 10hrs of imaging time.

It's known as the Corona Australis dark nebula and also has a really nice blue reflection nebula near it's centre.

Captured over 2 nights the telescope handles itself moving back and forth between the 3 positions in the sky rotating between black and white for detail known as luminance and red green and blue filters to overlay colour data onto that detailed black and white image for each position. On a continuous loop until sunrise.

Using a new computer im able to process these larger images a lot easier so stay tuned for more.

Taken with my 10" Newtonian 1000mm F4 and full frame camera.
