A double dose of Team Green from Saturday’s finals!

From the Colts through to the Reserves, the pace, pressure and intensity never let up. Across both games, the field, boundary and goal umpires worked together to keep the contests moving from the opening bounce to the final siren.

Finals footy asks plenty of everyone on the ground—including those carrying the whistles and flags.

📸 Boundary stories.

Finals football is rarely comfortable.

Labrador established a strong advantage in the opening half, taking a 24-point lead into the main break. Coorparoo responded after half-time and continued to challenge, but the Tigers held firm to secure a 26-point win and advance to the next stage of the finals.

It was a tough, physical contest filled with pressure, tackles and players putting their bodies on the line.

September footy. Everything just means a little bit more.

Morningside and Redland Victoria Point met in Semi Final 2 on Saturday morning, with the Panthers coming away with a 32-point win and keeping their finals campaign alive.

There was plenty happening in front of the lens — hard tackles, desperate contests, clean grabs and more than a little dust flying as both sides threw themselves into the game.

Morningside led by 28 at half time before Redland Victoria Point fought their way back into the contest in the third, but a big final quarter from the Panthers put the result beyond doubt.

And sometimes the best part of finals footy comes after all the hard stuff — that last photo says plenty. ❤️🖤

A little later than planned getting this one onto the feed — but there was no way this gallery was staying in the archives. 📸

Finals footy brought plenty to the boundary — big aerial contests, desperatey efforts, bodies flying and some brilliant individual moments as Morningside and Surfers Paradise went at it.

But amongst all that action, it’s still the little moments I love finding too — the celebrations, the reactions and the connections between teammates that tell another part of the story.

A pretty good afternoon to have a camera in my hands. ❤️📸

Elimination finals bring a different kind of intensity.
Coorparoo made a fast start, opening an 18-point advantage in the first quarter before continuing to build across the afternoon.

Surfers Paradise kept competing and produced some big marks, strong tackles and desperate efforts, but the Kings found another gear in the final term—kicking six goals to secure a 44-point victory and keep their finals campaign alive.

Finals footy at Nathan Road, with both the Reserves and Seniors in action across the day. 📸

This one was the Seniors Semi Final, and Redcliffe took control as the game went on, building their lead at every break before producing a dominant second half and holding Kedron to just two behinds after half time.

From the boundary, it was the contests that really caught my attention — some serious hang time, big grabs, bodies flying and plenty of desperation with finals on the line.

Redcliffe eventually ran away with an 88-point win, with Bradley Young, Will Lovett, Kailem Baker, Sam Jasper, Maverick Garaicoa and Enovy Tungi among their best.

For Kedron, Griffin Andrews, Reuben Ullrich, Joshua Elmslie, Theo Lang, Lachy Hunter and Zac Hughes were named among their standouts.

One last VFL umpire appreciation post from the boundary for the Lions’ 2026 season. 📸

The players might get most of the attention, but there’s another team out there covering plenty of kilometres, making the calls and keeping everything moving.

A few of my favourite umpire moments from Round 21 — from the whistle and signals to those little in-between moments you only really notice when you’re watching through a camera.

I’ve loved shooting the VFL again this season, and that includes keeping an eye out for the team in blue. 💙

Thanks for another season, umps. See you back on the boundary next year.
