A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of capturing some extra special memories for this amazing family. In April 2020 Malcolm was diagnosed with MND and his life was turned upside down. Malcolm married his teenage sweetheart Michelle and went on to have a beautiful family of 6!

Michelle and Malcom decided many years ago once their children had grown into young adults that they still had so much love to give so decided to foster children in need. Over 80 children later their love for helping others has not waivered. They continue to give to so many others in so many ways and at whatever cost – no bigger or more generous hearts are known than those of these 2 people.

MND, three letters that have devastating impacts on the affected and their loved ones. MND is a cruel terminal disease that robs people not only their lives, but their independence and freedom. There is no cure and the life expectancy is extremely short. This is a horrible disease that slowly degenerates the nerve cells controlling the muscles that enable us to move, speak, swallow and breathe. These nerves eventually die and essentially leave the person trapped in their own body until they go in to respiratory failure.

Reflecting tonight on witnessing one of my best friends give birth was truely a life changing experience. It was the first birth I’ve been at that I wasn’t a ‘midwife’ for and it was an amazing opportunity to experience birth for the amazingness that it is. I will never forget the moment Teddy entered the world and I’m so glad I got to capture this moment 💗
