WKAED Wraps Up a Valuable Test Weekend at the Alpha Clearing Manning Valley 12 Hour
The Wright Karts Australia Endurance Division (WKAED) travelled to the Alpha Clearing Manning Valley 12 Hour, hosted by the Endurance Racing Club (ERC), with one clear objective – to prepare for the Australian Endurance Championships, which return to the same circuit this August.
Rather than focusing solely on results, the weekend was about development. The team used the 12-hour race to test a range of new chassis setups, components and tuning changes under genuine endurance racing conditions. There's simply no better way to evaluate new ideas than over twelve hours of hard racing.
Factory Team – Kart #6
Our factory team crossed the line in 2nd Overall, but the biggest win came from the knowledge gained throughout the event. Several of our new developments showed excellent potential, while other test items unfortunately didn't maintain their performance over the full race distance, affecting our overall pace.
That is exactly why we came to Manning Valley.
The data collected and lessons learned have provided invaluable information that will help us further develop the Wright Kart package ahead of the Australian Championships. Sometimes the biggest victories aren't measured by trophies, but by the knowledge you take home.
Deja 2 – Kart #2
Another solid performance from Deja 2, who completed the full race distance to finish 6th Overall. Every lap added valuable experience at Manning Valley as the team continues preparing for the Australian Championships.
Venom Racing – Kart #272
Congratulations to Venom Racing on another strong and consistent performance, finishing 8th Overall and securing 3rd in Class to stand on the podium once again.
Overall, it was a fantastic weekend for the Wright Karts family, with all three entries gaining valuable race mileage, setup knowledge and confidence heading towards the biggest endurance event of the year.
A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support our program:
Endurance Racing Club (ERC) for running another outstanding event.
Alpha Clearing for their support of the meeting.
Nu-Tek Racing for supplying powerful and reliable engines throughout the weekend.
Kelgate Brake Systems for brakes that performed faultlessly across twelve demanding hours.
SWRD (Simon Wright Racing Development) for their continued innovation, development and support of the Wright Karts program.
Pulse Productions for the incredible photos and your unwavering dedication to promoting endurance karting. Your work captures our sport at its very best.
Most importantly, thank you to our drivers, mechanics, crew members, families and supporters. Endurance racing is a true team sport, and none of this is possible without the countless hours of work behind the scenes.
Next stop – Coffs Harbour!
We'll now turn our attention to the next round of the SEK NSW Championship in Coffs Harbour before returning to Manning Valley in August for the Australian Endurance Championships.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone there!
