Hi, I’m Melissa – a country girl based on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, and I truly believe the best photos come from genuine moments, not forced poses. My approach is simple: I want you to feel like you’re spending the day with a friend who just happens to have a camera in hand.
From the moment we meet, my goal is to create a comfortable atmosphere where you can be yourselves. Whether we’re laughing through windy beach photos, chasing the perfect sunset across a paddock, or celebrating on the dance floor, I’ll be there capturing every real smile, happy tear and little moment in between.
Living and working in the country has taught me to appreciate authenticity, community and the beauty in life’s simple moments. Those values are at the heart of Following Bliss. Every couple has their own story, and I love documenting it in a way that’s natural, timeless and full of personality.
I know weddings can feel overwhelming at times, so I do everything I can to keep the day flowing smoothly. I’ll guide you when you need it, step back when the moments are unfolding naturally, and always bring a calm, easy-going energy that helps everyone feel at ease in front of the camera.
At the end of the day, you’re not just investing in beautiful photos—you’re investing in memories that will take you back to exactly how your wedding felt.

✨ THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO BOOK THE BIG FAMILY PHOTOS! ✨

I finally managed to get my own family photos sorted… and honestly, it was organised chaos 😂

It involved a random lovely lady offering to take a big group photo, my niece having a turn behind the camera, my sister having a go, AND my niece’s boyfriend getting recruited too 😂📸

But we did it!! Everyone together, photos to keep forever, and plenty of laughs along the way 🤍

And of course it’s a HUGE sneak peek because apparently I’m completely incapable of picking just a few 😂 If you know me, you know I’d rather overshare the photos than leave a good one out!

✨ Meet the face behind Following Bliss Photography! ✨

Hi, I’m Mel! 👋

I’m a mum to two beautiful girls, a youth worker in residential care, and the person you’ll find doing just about anything to get the perfect photo. 😂

Need a massive family photo at a wedding? You’ll probably find me climbing on chairs, ladders, fences, in ute trays or anything that’s safe enough to get the best angle. Trying to get your toddler to smile? I’ll happily bust out Baby Shark, Let It Go, silly dances, funny noises… and probably embarrass myself in the process. If it gets those genuine giggles, it’s 100% worth it.

One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I overshoot everything. I’d much rather take too many photos than miss that split-second laugh, the sneaky glance, or the cuddle you didn’t even realise happened. That’s where the magic is.

I also know how nerve-wracking it can feel being in front of a camera. Maybe you think you’re awkward, your partner “hates photos,” or you don’t love the way you look. Trust me… I get it. I’m usually the awkward one! But that’s exactly why I love what I do. My job isn’t to make you pose perfectly—it’s to show you how I see you. The little moments, the love, the laughter, and the version of yourself that everyone else sees.

So I thought I’d introduce myself with a few of these ridiculous behind-the-scenes photos of me that my sister took while we were doing our own family photos! 🤣

Life’s too short to take yourself too seriously, and I promise your photography session or wedding day will be full of laughs, zero judgement, and memories you’ll treasure forever.
