Sun peaking on Mt Fraser. The area pictured is in the actual local government Fassifern suburb which occupies a small pocket around the intersection of the Fassifern Boonah Road and the Cunnigham Highway as opposed to the much wider loosely described Fassifern area that covered roughly the extent of the original Fassifern Stations. Around the treeline in the photo is where the Fassifern town was planned and surveyed in 1856 between Muller Road and the Highway but never eventuated when Kalbar was established organically by pioneers (as opposed to Government survey pre settlement). These innovative pioneers saved Kalbar from being a highway town and enabled its unique character. More of this is the book "A Pictorial Story of Kalbar" to be published later this year.

Elderflowers in berry and floral stage at Elderflower Farm. The Elderflower scrub was traditionally a hedgerow plant in Britain. Elderflower has widely claimed health benefits. The berries are used to flavour the likes of cordials, syrups and liquors while the flowers have a wide range of culinary uses. Note the berries can be poisonous in their raw state. I decided to feature this image in my book "A Pictorial Story of Kalbar" due out later this year considering Elderflower has become very much a Kalbar thing.
