I love being creative and I especially love getting behind a lens to capture what I see through my own eyes. I have had a career at sea of over 20 years and have travelled the coast of Australia on merchant ships, fishing boats and pearling vessels. I have worked under the water as a pearl diver, on boats as a captain, engineer, cook, and deckhand. I have worked in State and Federal Government, serving currently in Local Government and have done a whole range of other jobs. I guess the constant thing in my life is the way I view the world. My vision is unique, and it's fair to say that I look at everything as if it were a photograph. I studied at Curtin University and obtained my Bachelor of Arts (Photography & Illustration), and I also have a commercial drone operator’s license, expanding my ability and my range of sight. This is the start of my own journey into business, and I thank you for taking the time to consider working with me to capture your moment, your project, your staff, or even your loved ones. So excited about this. 🌊

The SEAGAL pendant is inspired by my beautiful SEAGAL logo. The first prototype was made back in 2019/2020, and in 2026 it has finally evolved into something ready to share.

It brings together the sea, my photography, my story, and so much of what I AM KAREN stands for.

I’ve been playing around with this idea for a while and I love how these have turned out.

The CHOOSE Collection.

Choose Kindness. Choose Empathy. Choose Respect. Choose Curiosity.

They’re part of I Am Karen, and really they come from the same place. We are all more than a label, a stereotype or someone else’s assumption about who we are.

And every day we get to choose what we put back into the world.

I’ll be at the Freo Farmers Market this Sunday with samples of the new range, so come down, have a look, feel the shirts, work out your size and have a yarn with me. You’ll be able to order the one that speaks to you.

And yes, you absolutely can still wear an I Am Karen shirt even if your name isn’t Karen. 😂

This is just another way to be part of it.

** UPDATE. I’ll no longer be at the markets in the morning with my prints cards and photography. I’ve made the hard decision to be there as an elected member - ward councillor to listen to the community and help with the information that I know.***

A change of plans for tomorrow’s market.

I had planned to bring a full collection of my photography, prints and cards, but circumstances around the event have changed.

I’ve decided to pare the stall right back, so I won’t be bringing the photography range I’ve been sharing with you. The range and products that I have been planning for months for tomorrow’s market.

To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement.

A little more of what’s coming.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how these photographs should live beyond the screen. Not just the image itself, but the paper, the frame, the scale, the space around it and the way each one feels when it finally lands on a wall.

These three show some of the different ways the collection will be available.

Fine art cotton rag. Premium framed pieces. Larger statement works.

Seeing them properly printed and framed for the first time is super exciting!

Happy Sunday.

This page began with photography, and that will always be part of it.

But over time, other things have grown alongside it. I Am Karen, the podcast, my cards and prints, and now the book I have carried with me for a very long time.

SEAGAL first began as a book I designed at university. I always knew I would come back to it one day and make it bigger.

That day seems to have arrived.

So this page will gently start to hold more of those things together. Photography. Stories. Things I make. Pieces of memory.

The sea, inevitably.
Not a reinvention.

Just more room for the work that has been there all along.

And perhaps a few glimpses of SEAGAL as I find my way back into it.

Something new is joining I Am Karen. 🩷

Of course, anyone can wear an I Am Karen shirt. You don't have to be called Karen to stand against labels and stereotypes.

But I wanted to create another way to wear what this movement stands for.

So here it is.

The CHOOSE Collection.
CHOOSE KINDNESS.
CHOOSE EMPATHY.
CHOOSE RESPECT.
CHOOSE CURIOSITY.
