An Epic Weekend for PHire-1 Solutions in the Blue Mountains.

The PHire-1 Solutions team has just wrapped up an incredible weekend supporting one of Australia’s premier trail running events — the HOKA UTMB Ultra-Trail Australia Marathon here in Katoomba.

Working in partnership with the brilliant crew from KFM Media and supported by a dedicated French production team, we provided live UAV video streaming from both the Start and Finish lines of the 100km and 50km races. The broadcast, streamed globally via YouTube through France, ran for more than 11 hours, capturing the atmosphere, emotion, and energy of the event from before sunrise until long after sunset.

Our drones played a central role in delivering breathtaking aerial footage — flying above the escarpments and capturing the drama of runners winding through the iconic Blue Mountains terrain. And what a backdrop it was: on race day, the region turned on spectacular weather, featuring valleys filled with early morning mist and a remarkable cloud waterfall cascading into the Jamison Valley. Nature delivered its own performance!

Not everything came easy — Friday’s technical integration and testing runs were made challenging by low cloud cover, sometimes dropping below 100 feet. But through preparation, persistence, and a bit of innovation, our team successfully delivered a seamless production on the day that mattered most.

Huge thanks to KFM Media for their continued trust and partnership, and to the international production team who brought professionalism, energy, and creativity to the project. We’re already looking forward to making next year’s UTMB even bigger and better!

Wishing everyone in NSW a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. Especially to all those that have suffered from the recent floods; and those that are waiting for the flood front to pass on the Darling and Murray Rivers.

This last week PHIRE-1 Solutions Pty Ltd was out helping farmers on the NSW Central Tablelands. We provide pro bono support for farmers that are struggling under the merciless floods that have recently hit the inland river systems of NSW.

We were pleased to be able to provide inspection and mapping services utilising the DJI M300 plus H20T and P1 Camera systems plus the DJI L1 LIDAR solution.

As a community-minded organisation with roots in the Rural Fire Service, it was a pleasure to help out our long-suffering mates in the bush. If you or anyone you know is struggling to capture information that would assist in getting your Farm or business back on the road, please give us a call. We would be honoured to assist you.
