Hey all,

Last year Hayley, Isla and I spent a couple of months traveling through the United States and Canada. We travelled from California to Alberta, across the rockies through British Columbia, down the West Coast of the United States through Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, then back to L.A to do Disneyland and Universal Studios.

This video is of our first week spent in California in the US. It’s video #1 out of 5 I have planned in the “series.” If all goes well I’ll be uploading a video every 3 weeks from today.

We will be setting off in our van full time in a couple of months so I can safely say there will be a constant flow of videos for the foreseeable future.

Over the past few months I’ve been collecting some footage from around Cradle Mountain during different visits.
I originally intended on making a kind of hiking video in various seasons. But when I sat down to start writing my monologue, I found myself digressing quite a bit and it ended up turning into a kind of deep philosophical video on the wild as cheesy as it sounds. It only goes for 3 minutes and I don’t really know where it came from. But it’s the first time since starting on my video journey that I’ve had this kind of creative high that just seemed to flow without any external influence. I’m not sure if it’ll resonate with many people apart from myself, but I enjoyed making it, so here it is.

I was lucky enough to get 5 mins of pretty amazing light up at The Artists Pool during sunrise back in May. It was just enough time to shoot this nice and tight pano with epic backlight on the base of Cradle Mountain. I've been sitting on it ever since and I don't know why because its pretty awesome and I just want to print it massive!

I plan on collecting clips over a couple of months of semi interesting things we do so I can collate them into a not too long form video just like this.
