The reality of a maternity session. Braxton Hicks, sessions cancelled because the rain wouldn't let up, and a real chance this shoot just wasn't going to happen before bub arrived.

Grabbed the umbrellas and we went ahead anyway.

Out on a misty hillside, watching the sky, hoping it would hold.

What we got was this. A mumma in her final weeks, glowing despite everything, standing quietly in the hills before everything changes and she becomes a mum of two.

Outdoor sessions don't always go to plan, but that's often exactly what makes the photos feel true. I'm so glad we didn't cancel.

If your due date is creeping up and you keep putting off booking your maternity session, this is your sign. I'd love to capture this moment for you too, rain, Braxton Hicks and all.

So we built the shoot around her actual business; her cleaning kit, her business cards, her Instagram growth - all styled in a sharp pinstripe suit and heels that meant business. Because a service business is still a personal brand, and the person behind it deserves to look like the expert she is.

Hey all, I've been a bit quiet over here lately, and I wanted to be upfront about why.

Life got a little messy. I've been a little overstretched. I'm nearing the end of my studies, I've been unwell, and in between that I've been doing a big overhaul of the behind-the-scenes stuff: admin systems, workflows, all the unglamorous bits that keep a small business running properly. It needed to happen, and I'm glad it's done. (There was also olive picking and salami making to come, because some family traditions are non-negotiable.)

Now I'm looking ahead.
I recently attended a photography conference and came home with a lot I want to put into practice. To do that, I'm looking for a small number of people for portfolio sessions over the coming months across three areas:

A small business owner who needs fresh images
Someone in the maternity to newborn window
A family

Portfolio sessions are offered at a reduced rate in exchange for honest feedback and permission to use the images. If that sounds like you, or someone you know, send me a message.

Proof that 10 minutes is all you need for magic...

​Mother Nature was definitely testing us for this session! After rescheduling a number of times to rainy days, we finally found a tiny gap in the clouds. We had exactly ten minutes on the clock before the rain started pouring down again.

​But looking at these beautiful, cozy connections, you’d never guess we were racing a storm. 🤍

​Parents often worry that a photo session has to be a long, perfect, drawn-out event, especially if you have little ones with short attention spans! But honestly? Sometimes a fast, fun mini session is all it takes to capture the moments that matter most. No stress, no rushing, just pure love.
