Isn't this sooooo cute? A cygnet on its mother's back, while the other four follow along. Taken this morning at Koolamarra Waters in Ferntree Gully. Weather was so beautiful and it was just amazing to watch this family move around the lake.

Was at Birdsland Reserve, Vic again this morning and, while there, a flock of Sulphur-cresteds were going totally nuts. Like screeching and flying all over the place. I looked up to see if there was an eagle, or kite or hawk but couldn't see anything different at all. Just a flock of white birds flying here, there and everywhere. Then they flew overhead... and the very last bird was just gliding along, not screeching. I got some shot and enlarged on my camera screen. Oh, a Grey Goshawk - White morph! Then I understood why the cockies were carrying on. Can you see the difference?

Our Lilly Pilly tree has had a huge amount of berries this year and the Pied Currawongs have been loving them, along with many other species too. In these three shots, you can see the Currawong consider swallowing while I was watching - it actually flew off shortly after the last shot. They have also been doing lots of wailing every single morning - we've been waking up to their calls.

Was lovely to see the season's first ducklings at Birdsland Reserve this morning. Very young, probably out of the nest over the past 24 hours - what do you think? So cute to see. Pacific Black Duck and 9 ducklings (there's one behind the one on the far right).
