12 years of you!
My affectionate, kind, gentle, compassionate, creative, funny, incredible boy.
You bring so much joy and light into this world. Your resilience and kindness is something I only wish more people had.
A very last minute birthday shoot today. My first time pulling the camera out in my new studio space, unfinished windows, tools surrounding us, dusty flooring and all.
Just you, your new guitar, and a little intruder who didn’t want to miss out on being with you.
As always my only wish was to capture you, just as you are right now. The last birthday shoot before you become a teenager.
Having already had 1 teenager in the house I feel like 12 is the last ‘true’ year of childhood in a way, as the teenage years brings so much more freedom and independence, and I only wish I could go back and do it all again. That delicious baby boy who brought so much joy into our lives even back then. The one who taught me that a mother’s heart can keep expanding.
Never stop being you, my boy.
