Wow, the amount of bookings that I’ve received these past few days for summer is truly insane 🌞 Thank-you guys! I can’t wait to shoot you and your scrumptious families in the sunshine. Lots of sun-flare shots, bare bottoms, ice creams, bumps and smiles. How to ensure your photoshoot is stress free?

Surprise! Family photos don’t have to be on a beach at sunset, when your kids are tired and cranky because it’s past their bedtime AND it’s literally the last thing your husband or partner wants to do after work. Forced smiles, cranky kids and a tired partner doesn’t equal memorable photos. Don’t get me wrong, I love beach photos if you guys are beach people and it’s your happy place. But if it isn’t, don’t worry. There are options.
 
I choose to have my yearly family photos done at home, every time. I don’t pick anyones outfits. I let the kids wear their pj’s or dress up clothes if they like. I don’t buy anything for the shoot. I don’t clean the house. I take the pressure out of it and guess what? I get magical photos in return every time. Photos of us, being us. And I want this for YOU. 
 
I want YOU to look back at your photos and remember this season in your life. Less about the clothes and scenery and more about the love and laughter. Your kids love their home and they love YOU. Let me capture YOUR magic. I want to capture your toddler waking up with his bed hair. Jam toast, fresh coffee, cuddles in bed, lego on the floor. 
 
At the end of the day it’s not the perfect sunset photos we treasure; it’s the photos of your child playing on the floor with their mum and dad, with peanut butter smeared on his/her cheeks and a huge natural smile on his/her face. These little moments are monumental moments.

Five ways to prepare for an upcoming session. 💫

Try to remember that kids are kids - so don’t have too high expectations of them. I’ll capture the moment regardless of their behaviour on the day. It can be confronting having a stranger put a camera in their face and ask them to smile. I try to avoid this!! The number one thing I ask you to do is be present with your babies. Just play and cuddle and kiss and run around and be silly. They will love being the focus of your attention. That’s when the magic happens.

Also, I’ve got 3 young kids myself. I’ve seen it all!!! No child is too wild for me. ###

Completely overwhelmed by all the bookings this past week! I’m beyond excited to capture all your beautiful bellies and babies. Remember that our session together will be completely relaxed. I will guide you into beautiful light but for the most part I will be a fly on the wall. I want to capture you guys just as you are. I want to document your life as it is now so you can remember how it felt in years to come. No need to dress up or tidy up. Remember, you are perfect just as you are. 💕
