Why did David Gulpilil’s face appear in the landscape the day he passed away?

One Red Blood : Gulpilil in the Landscape - An evocative new exhibition presented by his daughter Phoebe Marson Gulpilil, the award-winning actor/director Damian Walshe-Howling, and the acclaimed fine art drone photographer Eamon Wyss.

Exhibition: April 30 - June 13, 2026
Location: Midnight in Paris Gallery, 71 High Street, Prahran

Step into a world where remembrance and imagination meet. where an uncanny convergence invites us to consider how new stories may rise from the patterns we find in the land — stories that speak to who we are today.

More than a tribute, the exhibition is a meeting place between worlds. Combining photography, traditional weaving, lineage, storytelling and film screenings, we gain a deeper insight into the man himself, and his enduring belief that beneath our differences we are all “One Red Blood”.

Join us as we bring together contemporary practice and cultural continuity, to create a space for reflection and the possibility of a shared future shaped through story.

‘SUNRISE’ - The sun rises from the morning clouds above us. I don’t just take abstract images of salt lakes, I am exploring the technique of transforming them into story worlds unto themselves- without manipulation, simply through the framing, allowing Mother Nature to do her own thing.
