Melbourne and Sydney are amazing… but have you seen THIS side of Australia? 🌴🇦🇺

I’ll never get over how tropical Australia can be. 🥹 Think the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, tropical islands, palm-lined coastlines, waterfalls and lush rainforest. Tropical North Queensland will always be one of my favourite parts of Australia. 🌊🌿

A few tips if you’re planning a trip 👇

🌴 Head north from Cairns: stop in Palm Cove, drive the scenic Great Barrier Reef Drive to Port Douglas, then continue to Mossman Gorge, the Daintree River Ferry and Cape Tribulation.

🐠 Plan a full Great Barrier Reef day: both Cairns and Port Douglas are gateways to the reef, with trips to islands, coral cays and outer reef sites.

🌿 Stay overnight in the Daintree: it gives you more time for rainforest walks, wildlife spotting, lookouts and exploring Cape Tribulation without squeezing everything into one day.

💦 Add the Atherton Tablelands: if you have a few extra days, head inland for waterfalls, crater lakes, rainforest and beautiful country drives.

🚗 Give yourself more time than you think: Tropical North Queensland is much better explored slowly than trying to tick everything off in a couple of days.

Could you live somewhere this tropical? 🌴👀

Kinda chic to disappear to a tiny sand cay in the Great Barrier Reef 🏝️

No calls, no texts, just island hopping through ridiculously blue water… at least until the tide decides to cover my little island again 😂

Fun fact: the Great Barrier Reef stretches for more than 2,300 km along Queensland’s coast, with around 3,000 reefs and approximately 1,050 islands and cays, including more than 300 coral cays.

Some of my favourites around Tropical North Queensland include Mackay Cay, Vlasoff Cay, Michaelmas Cay and Upolu Cay, plus tropical islands like Fitzroy Island, Green Island and Lizard Island. 🏝️🩵

Tag someone you’d go island hopping with 🏝️👇

Obsessed with palms 🌴😂 Who knew Australia could look this tropical? 🇦🇺🌴💦

Tall palms, leaning palms, palm shadows, palms from above… apparently I have a type.

Just a little photo dump of some of my tropical shots from Tropical North Queensland: beaches, blue water, palm-lined coastlines and all those tropical details I can never resist photographing.

And yes, if there are palms involved, there’s a good chance the drone is going up too. 😂🚁

A little late for World Photography Day… but better late than never, right? 📸🤍

I haven’t shared or captured still photography in a while. These days, so much of my work as a Social Media manager and content creator revolves around video, reels and keeping up with an ever-changing social media world… but photography, especially drone photography, will always be one of my favourite ways to create. 🚁📸

There’s just something about seeing a place from above that completely changes your perspective. Finding patterns, colours, textures and tiny details you’d never notice from the ground is probably why aerial photography has become my favourite style over the years.

Fun fact for my newer followers: I actually taught myself photography and colour grading through YouTube 😂 No fancy photography school, just a LOT of tutorials, experimenting, editing, getting things wrong and trying again.

And honestly, I’m still learning. There’s always a new technique to try, a different way to edit, or a new perspective to discover behind the camera… or from the sky. 🤍

So for World Photography Day, here are a few stills that deserve a little moment of their own.

Which photo is your favourite? 👀📸

POV: you thought this was Hawaii… but it’s Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays, Australia 🇦🇺🌴💦

Think crystal-clear turquoise water, tropical beaches, swaying palms and lush island views right in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Hamilton Island is one of those Australian destinations that genuinely looks like it belongs on a postcard.

From exploring the Whitsunday Islands and visiting Whitehaven Beach to snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, sailing, hiking and simply slowing down by the water, there’s a reason this little slice of Queensland is on so many bucket lists. 🤍

Would you choose the Whitsundays or Hawaii? 👀🌺
