Wedding photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. Email me to work together Hello, I’m Wei. I believe in honesty.

After finishing vet school, I decided to trust my heart and pursue my passions: I love taking photographs, and I love coffee. I became a photographer, and spent some time working as a barista too. It took a huge leap of faith to make that decision, but I’ve never looked back since. I knew I had to be honest with myself, and guess what? It’s been a mind-blowing adventure since! I understand how sig

nificant your wedding is to you, and all I want is to bring that same honesty into the photographs I make. I hope to capture the laughter in between the poses, and the whispers in between the speeches.

I started filming random clips during the quieter months of the year, so you could say this video took half a year to make. I’m also not the best at putting videos together, or at expressing what I want to say through this medium.

But I knew I wanted to capture a feeling, much like the intentions I have with my photos. I wanted the video to feel like a dream, a walk through past memories. I named the folder where I collected all the clips “Nostalgia Project”.

I know it’s a word that’s been thrown around a lot, but it’s always dancing in my mind with the work that I do, and with thoughts I often have of life and its fleeting nature. Sometimes I get into the rabbit hole of looking back at photos and videos from the past, often late at night. Happy and sad feelings come together in a bittersweet combination. You feel proud, grateful, and you ache knowing you’ll probably never have the same experiences again.

2025 was incredibly difficult in many ways. There were seasons of absolute heartbreak, fear, and uncertainty. I definitely felt like I was drowning at times. But I also look back at the year with much fondness, and feel incredibly thankful for the way in which God has orchestrated things. Indeed, He is good all the time.

So what’s the point of putting this video together? Honestly, I don’t really know. But I’m thrilled about what 2026 holds. I hope I’ll have the time and mental capacity to carry out the ideas I have for my work, and certainly do more for my very quiet IG feed. I hope to continue stirring the same feelings of nostalgia in the photos I take, and I pray for a year of remarkable fulfilment and joy.

In the meantime, yes, go ahead and book those tickets to see your loved ones, hug more people than you’ve ever hugged, and try that thing you never had time to try. Don’t stop taking pictures so you remember, the good times and the bad. Don’t stop taking the time to pause, and to dream. Never stop thanking God for His goodness. We’ll touch base again at the end of the year and share stories over a cuppa.

Much love,
Wei

The highest of highs and lowest of lows, I’m just grateful to have done it with all of you.

Thank you thank you thank you to my family, all my couples, all the families, legends I got to work with, the people I call friends, and above all to the Most High. This year was a roller coaster ride of tough lessons, finding identity and experiencing true Grace.

I am forever grateful that I get to do what I do. Happy 2025 folks ✌🏻

It could’ve been the 2000s music that was playing, but I got a little emotional while putting this post together. I really enjoyed taking these photos; I hope I’m never wasting anyone’s time getting them to do meaningless poses, or letting locations ever be more important than the human connection.

I so appreciate couples like Min Li & Kia Seng, truly! They flew into Brisbane from Singapore, because that’s where their story began. They personally picked me up from the airport, and we got along like old friends. We went to places that meant a lot to them, took photos while sharing stories, and danced by the lake while the most phenomenal sunset was taking place.

I always wanted to make weekends like that the only format in which I do my shoots, but never knew how to make that a reality. For now, hopefully, I’ll continue to tell your stories in ways that do them justice.

It always feels like a full circle thing when I’m asked to shoot a wedding in Malaysia. I don’t quite know how to put it into words, but being flown back to my homeland, the place where I spent half my life, the place where I fell in love, the place where the spark of photography first started, and to use my humble gift there where it all began to tell a couple’s story.. How incredible special!

Hor Ken & Zoe’s wedding was a lot of fun to shoot, even if the cameras overheated 😂 We stopped by , a kopitiam, and even a 99 Speedmart. Some film photos mixed in the bunch! Can’t thank these guys enough for bringing me along for the journey, from their proposal to tying the knot!

I will have limited dates available for sessions in Malaysia, mid-end September, and end Jan to mid Feb. DM or email if you’re interested!

When Natalie & Chester found out that Sheeba didn’t have much time left, they decided to bring their engagement shoot forward so they could have some nice photos done with her. Chester flew in from out of town, and the shoot was done on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May. By Wednesday they said their goodbyes to dear Sheebs. I’m so glad I got to do this for them 🥹

We were basically retracing Jon’s steps from his high school days, as we walked through KL in search for a cold drink and some “Apam Balik”. He told me about how he would take the LRT home from school each day, and it felt so special that he was able to bring his little family along for a trip down memory lane.

I remember how special it felt when we first brought Millie to the mall where Alicia and I used to go on dates, we just forgot to bring a photographer along 😂

It got a little busy over the weekend, but I wanted to do a Mother’s Day special for family sessions. Better late than never, I guess! If you’re keen on doing a family session with me, get 10% off from now till 31 May 2024 if you mention “Apam Balik”. Don’t worry if you don’t know what it is, just know that it’s delicious 😜

Nothing like getting an espresso before saying “I do” at the Old Treasury Building!

Really enjoyed taking a stroll with John & Gill in the city before they tied the knot, and getting introduced to John’s favourite hat 😂 Gill’s friend made the sweetest bouquet for her, and everything about the day was kept simple and relaxed ❤️

(Shoutout to for amazing brews every single time!)

The kind of wedding where streams of tears meet uncontrollable laughter, Fang Kai & Esther’s big day was truly a joy to shoot ❤️ The sunset happened to also be so epic that I pulled them out of the reception twice!
