A beautiful moment of a passer-by who paused while crossing the stream in The Redwoods.

The light flooding in from above illuminating the clearing is so special 💖

An out-take from my last solo journey. To say I yearn to be out hiking in nature again would be an understatement. It's something I feel so deep in my being. Until then maybe I'll learn from nature in other ways - currently I'm reading a beautiful book called Phosphorescence by Julia Baird. Featuring cute chapter names like Lessons from a Cuttlefish, Bathe in Nature & Growing by the Light of the Moon 💕

The 2019–20 Australian bushfire season has burned an estimated 16 million acres, destroyed over 2,500 buildings (including over 1,300 houses) and killed 24 people as of 4 January 2020, with a further six missing in Victoria. It has been estimated that over 800 million animals have been affected in Australia since September.

It was only a few months ago I was travelling solo through the south east coast in my van. It is truly an amazing part of the world that I was so lucky to experience. I saw so many beautiful landscapes and an abundance of wildlife each day. Not to mention how welcomed I was by the locals who were eager to tell me their favourite locations to visit. For 2 weeks I woke up for every sunrise and took so many photos! I would now like to try and give back by raising money for our Victorian Country Fire Association (CFA) and the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (RFS) who are seriously underfunded and without respite. I would love to also support WIRES Wildlife Rescue who have been working tirelessly to rescue wild animals from the fires by donating 50% of the funds I raise.

For full transparency I will share updates with you about our progress.

Looking back on the year is always a bit hard. For some reason a lot of the struggles stand out the most. Although as I go through my photos and the feelings around them its hard to ignore the progression and development. The way I see the world is constantly evolving and my understanding of the innate human relationship with our environment deepens. My hopes for the new year, and the many ones to follow, is that we start listening to our planet and tune in to its frequencies. There is so much we can learn from nature about the world and ourselves. This year I have been so lucky to travel to some small parts of our beautiful earth in my van and I cannot wait to continue this learning experience in the new decade! And with my beautiful doggo by my side - of course :P Thank you so much to all the beautiful humans out there who continue to support and inspire me to do what I love most

It has been an emotional few weeks for me and I have been searching for the right way to vocalise what I am feeling. With everything going on with the Climate Summit and the Global Week for Future. I attended the Climate Strike here in Melbourne along with 150,000 other beautiful souls. On my way to the peaceful protest in the CBD I stood on the full train platform with such a diverse group of solemn people. I was overcome with emotion and had to blink through my tears. There was a truckload of unforgiving feelings coming right at me. Sadness, anger, fear, shame, frustration, guilt, hopelessness - to name a few. I began to question if I had the strength to continue into the city. While seemingly drowning in these waves of emotion I pushed through because the environment has always been there for me. Always supported and nourished me. So I can be strong for it. In the city I met up with a group of about 30 people I am proud to call my friends. They helped me see everything through a new lens. A hopeful lens. There were so SO many inspiring people who cared, all crammed into one city block. I am very proud of my community who stood up for what they believe in and what is right. And although I am still terrified I know that the time for action has come. Change will follow and we as humans decide what form that change will take. I hope for each and every being on this planet that this momentum continues. And that the inevitable change will be for the best. One of my biggest aims with my photography is to challenge preconceived ideas of what a beautiful landscape is. Because every part of this world is beautiful. Every drop of rain. Every cloud. Every dark day and cold morning. I want to remind everyone that while we are stuck in society with our blinkers on the world still continues out there. It doesn’t go away just because you can’t see it. Just like your single use coffee cups.

YEEEOWWWW ❤️❤️❤️✨

Looking back on this year is such a surreal experience. Sooo many moody landscapes that hold so much for me. In the process of trying to find myself I lost myself again. I've fallen in love with this earth of ours and it's depth. These brooding scenes, a mirror for me. I find a comfort in the troubled landscape. So desolate and still. It's pure existence places mine into perspective. I am small and I am mortal and I am okay with that 🍃
