Hey friends, new and old, thought it was time for a reintroduction.

I’m Michael (aka Briggsy), a wedding photographer based in the Yarra Valley & Melbourne, though you’ll just as often find me shooting somewhere across regional Victoria or sometimes even interstate. This is my 16th year photographing weddings, and I still can’t quite believe I get to call this a job. I feel incredibly lucky and thankful for it every single time.

This year I’ve made some huge changes personally, that have me feeling clearer, more present, healthier and more energised than ever, which means more focus and more presence for every couple I get to shoot from here on.

Winter is naturally quieter for weddings, so it gave me the chance to have a great break with my wife Kelly (coming up on 12 years married), our two young kids Quinn & Klay and our beautiful boxer dog, Delilah.

Spring kicks off tomorrow, and it’s lining up to be one of the busiest 18 months of my career. Genuinely excited about that, especially knowing some others in the industry are doing it tough right now. 16 years in means I know how to help you maximise your time with your guests on the day, and turn portraits into one of the best parts of your wedding rather than the bit everyone dreads.

I’ll admit, I post reels & videos sporadically, some months I’m all over it, other months you won’t hear from me for weeks. I want to change that. More BTS, talking head reels, tips, stories, the laughs & challenges along the way, so you know exactly who you’re getting on your wedding day before it even arrives.

I’m pumped! Is there anything you’d like to see more of here?

As the days get that little bit longer & the air gets a bit warmer - it reminds how much I love that feeling as we start coming out of the cold, into another busy time for weddings. What a job, what a life this is - being lucky enough to still do this at least once every single week.
