Nearly at the end of all the warm sunny shots I have this year. Well and truly back in the moody Melbourne winter…

Had more fun shooting on the black sand beaches than I expected though. It’s definitely a different vibe from the classic sandy shores

It’s also a little easier to play with contrast, particularly around golden hour.

Also helps when you’re in one of the nicest coasts you can find.

I’ll tell you more in the next one but we got attacked by blue crabs taking these photos…

Bit of golden hour and the afternoon tide

We couldn’t quite make the black sand look work, so the hanging rocks and Little Rock pools set the backdrop…

Honestly I tried to make this rock look like it was way higher up but I kept getting smashed by waves

This one makes me feel warm, even though I’m posting this while under a weighted blanket in Melbourne…

Started out warm and dry, and then the tide came in and the race back to the bags was on…

At least the water was warm and the water vibes worked for the shoot

And the scooter ride dried me off on the way back home…so it all worked out!
