Spring is here it was a great sunny weekend in Victoria the sun was out, blue skies no wind beautiful.. The last month we had a lot of nice blue sky days and wasn't surprised to hear on the weather news tonight it's been the warmest winter in record history in Victoria.
So, Sunday we went for a drive up north over the Great Dividing Range and came across numerous paddocks of Canola fields. Final destination was Goulburn Weir, and it was really flowing well all doors open.
Let's hope it's a sign to come more beautiful spring days leading up to Summer. ☀☀☀

Melbourne Star Observation Wheel Docklands..

Well, she's back Melbourne Star Observation Wheel hasn't lit up since 6 September 2021, but the lights have returned Thursday night was its lights grand opening. and soon to be open to the public for rides.
So naturally straight after work l drove to docklands to photography the attraction the fireworks 🎆

The original system has been fully replaced with an entirely new lighting network capable of full-colour animation and synchronised sequences, meaning the Star can now be programmed to light up for events, seasons and moments that matter to the city, in a way it never could before.

Hume & Hovell Monument

Well, it's been a sit and weight game for good suitable weather and yesterday finally a perfect day and night for the Milky way.
So grabbed all my camera gear and headed to Hume & Hovell Monument in Kilmore.
Located an hour north of Melbourne in Kilmore, Monument Hill Reserve is situated at the top of the Hill is the Hume and Hovell monument. This was erected to honor the explorers whose expedition played a significant role in establishing the colony of Victoria. The monument is a watchtower from the former Kilmore Gaol. From the top of the monument visitors can look out over Kilmore and the surrounding countryside.

In 2022 l last attempted the milky way with this monument want too successful. So, with much better camera gear and lot more experience and good apps I'm now happy how the pictures turnout..

Part 2 waterfalls from Kinglake this one is called Wombelano Falls not as well-known as Mason Falls but is well worth the visit. Wombelano Falls is a hidden gem tucked away in the gullies of Kinglake National Park the Falls can be found on a walking trail in the park the loop trail is around 1 mile (1.5 km)..

Please note these pictures were taken from the bottom of the gorge there is no walking track to the base of the waterfall. I decided to scale over the platform and slid my way down the bottom and take a chance l could climb my way back up. Ive posted a picture from the bottom looking up I've put a red arrow in the picture showing the platform and the descent to the bottom. (please do not try this unless your very experienced in hiking and climbing and you're prepared to get very muddy).

Last Sunday went for a drive to Kinglake to visit a few waterfalls this one is Masons Falls. With all the rain Victoria has been getting last week it was a good opportunity to photography these waterfalls with a good flow of water..
Masons Falls is nestled in Kinglake National Park, the largest and closest national park to Melbourne, making it an ideal spot for a day trip or weekend getaway. After just a short walk you'll discover an impressive high drop waterfall with streams of water cascading down the rock shelves into the gully below.

Last weekend was a long weekend in Australia so l hooked up the caravan and went down to the Bellarine Peninsula. Stayed in a caravan park at Portarlington was very lucky to get a spot considering it was the Celtic festival in Portarlington.
Once again, we fluked the weather pretty much sunny all 3 days, so we took a drive to Point Addis Beach a very much under rated beach along The Great Ocean Rd.
Drive through Torquay and drive pass Bells Beach and you have a beautiful beach often overlooked while traveling along The Great Ocean Rd. Once you walk down a set of stars to the beach you notice straight away dramatic sandstone and limestone cliffs the landscape has the best of beaches, cliffs and clifftop views, it’s a real showstopper.
Its aways a treat to find Tawny Frogmouth sleeping in a tree a bird native to the Australian mainland and Tasmania they are nocturnal birds.

Hi all well I've just got back for a 5 day trip with the caravan down to Phillip Island and the weather for the first 3 days was like it was summer no wind and warm.
Sadly, that changed on the 4 day strong winds and patchy rain on and off most the day.
Those 3 days provided some amazing sunsets on Woolamai Surf Beach hope you enjoy them.l

Just recently we spent a night in Benalla to see the hot air ballon show at night (photos to come) The next morning we took a drive to Bright and Beechworth to see the Autum trees. I took my large lens for we know at this time of the year the bird life comes alive and the sort after bird is the Gang-gang cockatoo and we were lucky enough to find a flock of them..❤️

Hi all how was everybody's Easter break? We hooked up the Van and headed up to Murchison and camped along the Goulburn River.
It was beautiful weather and good to be able to get away and refresh and get away from these crazy times we live in..

It took the last day to finally get some nice colour in the sky this sunrise over Murchison along the Goulburn River was worth getting out of bed for.🌞
