I still remember when Brett Burcher asked me to come to South Africa to document his surf trip.
I kind of hesitated, Africa had always seemed so wild (can confirm it is ๐) but I said yes and expected a surf trip with a few sightseeing spots along the way.
What I experienced was so much more than I could have imagined.
We scored waves, ate like kings, hung with the locals, experienced a South African Braai (bbq), hired a car and experienced the wild coast (if you have ever stayed at Ottoโs, itโs even wilder ๐) almost had our accommodations roof blow off the house, witnessed multiple dead bodies on the side of the road, looked into a lions eyes from metres away, told to not stop in certain towns to then forget what those towns were and needed to stop to get petrol ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ and the list goes on.
Itโs a place I thought I probably would have been back to by now but the years pass by and closer destinations take priority when you have a young family.
I reminisce on this trip and remember the great times we all experienced. One for the books
Thank you South Africa ๐ฟ๐ฆ
