Murgona Cattle Co Annual Production Sale is fast approaching, with 46 bulls and 2 PTIC led heifers on offer.

It’s been a pleasure to work alongside Dan & Kasey in the lead up to the sale, covering catalogue and marketing images, sire profiles and individual lot video footage.

Although the weather wasn’t always on our side, the end result is a solid representation of the Murgona sale team — practical, profitable cattle bred to perform.

Yesterday’s 15th annual Eidsvold Charolais Bull Sale at the Eidsvold Saleyards was backed by strong stud and commercial buyer support, with bulls dispersing to a broad cross section of Queensland districts.

Lot 11 Clare Van Halen (P), a polled red factor son of Ascot Kudos (P)(R/F), from a well performing Bauhinia Park dam claimed top price honours at $42,500. Entering the ring at 916kg, with scans of 9mm P8 fat, 7mm rib fat and a 144cm² EMA, he was secured by Chas and Judy Nobbs of Nobbs Grazing, Cordelia Charbrays.

Alan & Natalie Goodland's Clare draft continued strongly throughout the sale, reaching $20,000 on three occasions with Lots 5, 7 and 24. Clare Charolais and Brahmans went on to achieve a complete clearance through the ring and averaged $17,416 per head.

Ross and Paula Warren of Elridge Charolais opened the sale with the second top priced bull of the day, Elridge Vatican (P). Weighing 978kg and boasting a7.3% IMF, Vatican sold for $28,000 to Kedstock Pty Ltd, Moongool Charolais. The Elridge draft recorded a 91% clearance and averaged $11,950 per head.

Selling agents Eidsvold Livestock and Property and Burnett Livestock & Realty oversaw proceedings, alongside Wayne York of York Auctioneering and active online participation through AuctionsPlus.

Overall, the sale returned a strong 93.5% clearance through the ring with bulls averaging $13,646.55 per head.
