I'm an avid photographer who finds peace being amongst nature, be it tall eucalyptus forests, waterfalls, lakes or the beach. I'm not daunted by the extremes our seasons can present, so I can be found out in the elements at any time of day. Since the age of 18 I have had a camera in my hand or not far away, admittedly there have been times where my passion for photography and the outdoors has ebbe

I'm now back in the grip of these passions and wholehearted pursuing them, investing more of my energy and time to improving and expanding my photographic repertoire through trying new genres and sharing my images and knowledge with others. I am self taught and have taken a lot of not so good images, as well as images I'm very happy with, and I have learned so much along the way.

Echoes of Time - the echoes of uniform patterns and colours caught my eye in this location. In the flow of capturing this image all I could think about was concepts like indelable memories, and the earth capturing the passage of time as the water slowly evaporates around the centre and deeper parts of this lagoon an the edge of a large salt lake. If you look closely you can see the footprints of local marsupials, most likely Kangaroo which endemic to this area.

Slow Burn - my first impression when I capture this aerial photographic image was that of a burning fuse. Which has been created when the man made salt farm pond walls or berms break or whether with age. The salty water washes through creating new and interesting patterns, sometimes looking like flares or explosions.

Burning Seams run like rivulets out across this salt lake. When I captured this abstract aerial landscape image I was captivated by the textures and the colour palette created by nature in this area of Lake Tyrrell, a large salt lake in the Mallee Region of Victoria.

In some ways it was a reflected the type of day it was as I stood by the lake in temperatures reaching the high 30's (Degrees Celsius) under clear blue skies and no shade as respite.

So honoured to be included in this year’s top 30 in the Aerial category of the Australian Photographic Prize. Aerial photography has been become a passion of mine. I’m constantly amazed by the patterns, shapes and textures that our world creates, whether it be natural or man made.
