We were so happy to meet Wesley and his gorgeous sisters at the weekend. They are the newest owners of seven Little Blue Hens! It warms our hearts when our LBHs go to good homes and we know Wesley will be an amazing chicken dad!

Lots of action in the incubator right now! These fluff balls hatched just before dinner time and are currently getting an incubator blow dry under the fan before moving into the brooding box (under the heat lamp) later tonight 🐣🐥

INTRODUCING DAFFODIL //

Daffodil is one of our first ever silkies. Farmer Dad was trying to impress Farmer Mum on Valentine's Day a few years ago and surprised her with three day-old silkies and a bunch of yellow flowers. Mum was expecting jewellery that day. But got chickens. As it turned out though, it was the perfect present because that's where our family's obsession with fluff-ball chickens started. Bright white Daffodil went on to have two bright white identical daughters named Dahlia and Daisy. We have been known to colour them pink, blue and green by spraying them with food colouring, to help us tell them apart. Daffodil is always clucky and loves raising chicks. She's very protective of them. She's probably our most dedicated and prolific mumma chicken. If she was a human, she'd be that uber-busy stay-at-home mum who drives a mini van full of little kids and spends her days washing clothes, picking up toys and then running her chicks around to extra-curricular activities every afternoon of the week

INTRODUCING BB //

‘BB' is my chicken and her full name is 'Black Betty'. She is lots of breeds mixed together including silkie bantam. I find that interesting - that is why i love her so much. BB is a chicken that will always love a good squashy hug. Ava Junior the rooster really loves her. BB is a chicken that has a big afro and flat feathers. BB is my best friend.
