A sneak peek for Annette of 4 year old Sharpei x Kelpie, Pia.

Annette says "Pia was adopted from SAFE Karratha a few months ago. They suggested she would be a suitable dog for me size and behaviour-wise as an older person. Someone has cared for her and trained her in the past. She is a friendly, affectionate girl."

A sneak peek for Amelia of 11 year old Ragdoll Elsa and 10 year old Pixie.

Amelia says "Elsa came from a Ragdoll breeder here in Perth. Once, as a kitten, she stayed with my in-laws during a trip to New Zealand. We received a very worried call one night - “She’s making a funny noise!" It turned out was purring!

Pixie is my Cat Haven WA foster fail. She came to me as a 3 week old, 300g bottle baby and never left."

A sneak peek fro HB of 13 year old Alfie and Bear.

HB says "Alfie and Bear are street dogs from Singapore. We adopted them 12 years ago and later made the big move to Perth, where they have been loving the laidback life. Unfortunately, we lost their sister Sera a few months ago to cancer. Our family has not been the same since but we are grateful for every day we have with Alfie and Bear. They are our whole world and heart."

A sneak peek for Rachel of 16 week old Dalmation, Hunny.

Rachel says "Hunny came to me after I lost my two boys, Milo in October 2025 and Archie in March 2026 from health issues. She’s fit right in and absolutely loves my mum's dog Freckles, who is equally obsessed with her until about 6pm when Freckles decides that it’s bedtime and Hunny needs to leave.

Hunny is absolutely not a morning girl. She’s always trying to snuggle for as long as I’ll let her or falling back asleep after only eating half of her breakfast. She moves and stretches into new sleeping positions whilst making noises that sound like there’s a cow mooing in the house. But when she’s up, she is up! Launching herself onto the couches, playing inside the toy basket, zooming around the backyard and getting into all sorts of mischief - which usually involves eating the plants or ripping the fluff off her toys."

PRESENTATIONS! I’m hosting two presentations in Boyup Brook next month for the and while they’re based on photography, they really do have something for everyone.

The first session is all about "Finding your style" and the second dives into the wild world of "Animal Photography."

My presentation style is a mix of storytelling, education and enough humour to ensure nobody falls asleep in the back row.

If you’re looking for an engaging experience you’ll find plenty of inspiration here! All are welcome.

I’m also judging the ‘What’s your angle’ photography competition and entries are now open across 5 categories. 🖤📸

COSTA RICA DELIVERED! We just returned home from a 12 day photography adventure to Costa Rica and wow, what a country! Not only is it stunningly beautiful and incredibly green, the wildlife is abundant and everywhere. I caught a photo of (nearly) every creature we encountered (the tapir crossing the road was the only one who alluded me but was still so cool to see) and this cracker of a location gave me the most varied photo set of any tour I’ve ever taken. 💚

I had the pleasure of travelling with 14 fabulous humans who also excelled at getting amongst it. They all got their “pura vida” on and none of us could believe the number of creatures we had the privilege of seeing. The people on a tour make or break it and this crew were outstanding!

We visited four main areas for two nights / three days each:

• Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve where we stayed in a stunning stone and wood lodge with a 3km long hilly jungle driveway. Hummingbirds in the grounds were a highlight. We explored the rainforest canopy on the iconic Selvatura Park Hanging Bridges, plus the rescue Sloth Sanctuary and exquisite Butterfly Garden.

• La Fortuna where we stayed at the foot of the majestic Arenal Volcano, took a guided nature walk through the Eco Centro Danaus trails and wetlands, and relaxed in the mineral pools at the private EcoTermales Hot Springs.

• Boca Tapada where we were based at a dedicated, isolated birdwatching eco-lodge situated in 500 protected hectares of rainforest, 180kms from the Nicaraguan border. The dusk bird and wildlife action was off the charts. Not a tourist to be found here, just die hard birders. A highlight was the toucan bathing and a Pygmy owl peering out of his tree home.

• Tortuguero National Park where we travelled for 90 minutes on a small boat through the freshwater canals to a remote rainforest lodge that had shade cloth in the windows of our rooms instead of glass. We fell asleep to the sounds of the ocean and woke up to the sound of the rain - plus the sounds of the forest in between. Bliss! So many macaws, reptiles, amphibians and monkeys in the grounds. Rugged and real!

Some areas required extreme caution so we didn’t run into the highly territorial and venomous fer-de-lance snake, who was endemic to several places we visited.

My favourite image of the trip? The first one in this gallery of a wild keel-billed toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus) who was having a late afternoon bath under the sprinkler at Boca Tapada. He turned and looked at me face on mid wash and gave me an image I was so excited to capture. Probably one of the top ten all time pics to come out of my camera in the last two decades. The light was fading fast and the water droplets kept stealing my auto focus, so the degree of difficulty was high.

All images were taken with either my Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD e-mount lens or Tamron 90mm macro lens with my Sony A1 MII.

If this post inspires you to learn more about my wildlife photography tours, workshops and retreats, I share all the info first in my FB travel group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/862661057662484

I currently have two tours confirmed for 2027 that still have a handful of limited places left. 💚 World Expeditions Tamron Americas Tamron Australia

A sneak peek for Char and Mick of 6 yeqr old Min Pin Greta and 13 year old Chihuahua Beau.

Charmain says "After the death of our last little Min Pin Cooper, who was two weeks off 18 years of age, we were quite grief stricken. We also noticed that our other little dog was pining, so we set about looking for another Pinscher.

We found Greta and organised a meet and greet the three of us, and it was a success. She was two years old and gorgeous. She didn't find her voice for two weeks, then out of the blue she made her presence known with her on and off barking. Despite this, she is very sweet and loves to cuddle with us on the couch and in true Min Pin style, covers herself entirely with a blanket or sheet, so we can't see her. Sometimes you'll see the end of her tail or one paw poking out from under the covers.

Greta is a real character and has lots of personality, which we are probably the only ones privileged to see as she can be aloof with strangers. She's been very unwell lately, but the vets love her as she is a very forgiving patient.

Beau came to us from the Dogs' Refuge Home WA INC and is the sweetest little boy. He loves humans, but isn't so fond of other dogs, though Greta gets a pass. He only has two teeth! There's always a race between them both up the little doggy stairs onto the couch, to see who gets the first position on Mum or Dads lap. Sibling competition is a daily occurrence. Beau is very protective of her when she is unwell. They have separate beds but when they think we are not looking, they will share a bed, cuddled up to one another."
