scroll to the most unexpected part of my Australian life 😂

story time: this is Gary the emu. Rumour has it he’s lived on this property for a loonng time, and used to have a girlfriend but she passed away so this our resident bachelor emu. I’m not sure how many people can say they’ve had the experience of being up close and personal with an emu, but I liked my life without knowing 😂 since bringing home our horse Dolly, Gary has fallen newly in love and has now decided he’s no longer a bachelor and moved on with our HORSE. But Dolly has zero clue of her neighbourhood lover.

So Gary (who isn’t allowed in the same paddock as Dolly) paces the fence waiting and looking for her - all day, everyday. We recently had the lovely encounter of riding into the paddock and Gary didn’t like that we were with his girlfriend, so imagine an emu coming at you very angrily 😭 nightmare stuff.

So when they say “everything in Australia try’s to kill you,” THEY AREN’T EXAGGERATING

Since then, he has also had a brave moment towards my hubby and let’s just say, I wish I would’ve been there to get a video of it lol
