I talk a lot about chasing my dreams, but not enough about the person who helps make it possible.
While Iām off doing what I love, I get to come home to my babies happily asleep, a clean house, the washing done, our bed perfectly made, dinner sorted and a tea cup sitting there with my tea bag in it, ready to go.
And I know how lucky I am. I really, really do.
But I also think sometimes we call women āluckyā for having a partner who actually partners with them.
So yes, Iām grateful. Beyond grateful that I have someone who wants to do the hard work of life together.
And I donāt say any of this pretending itās always been easy. Absolutely not.
Sixteen years together means weāve grown up together. Weāve changed, made mistakes, had hard seasons, driven each other absolutely insane and had to learn how to keep choosing each other through all the different versions of ourselves.
This kind of partnership didnāt just happen because we got lucky. Weāve worked really fu***ng hard for it. We still do.
But also, fight for your worth.
Life is so fu***ng short, and Iāve watched too many women I love sacrifice every inch of themselves because they werenāt appreciated, werenāt seen and werenāt given the space to be anything outside of what they gave to everyone else.
And watching the light slowly go out of a woman you love is one of the most heartbreaking things in the world.
You deserve someone who wants to see you chase your dreams just as much as they chase theirs. Someone who carries the load when you canāt. Someone who notices the little things. Someone who makes your life lighter, not heavier.
I know that isnāt the reality for so many women, and Iāll never take for granted that itās mine.
But this is what partnership should feel like.
Whatever brought our paths together 16 years ago, I thank my lucky stars every damn day that somehow, in this huge fu***ng universe, they led me to him. āØš¤
I also canāt forget my mum, always helping us as much as she can, a little pocket rocket and āthe really funā one in my childrenās childhood because apparently I am just a ālittle funā and daddy is āpretty funā but Gmaās āREALLY funā. š
