Cutting-edge technology helping save koalas. ๐จ ๐ฉบ
A $3 million Australian Government investment is supporting important koala health research and treatment at Port Stephens Koala Hospital ๐ฅ
Over 3 years, koalas from across NSW will be cared for, studied and treated using a CT scanner that gives vets fast, detailed images of koalasโ bodies, improving how disease is detected and treated while reducing stress on the animals.
This funding will allow the hospital to continue caring for koalas and carrying out research until March 2028. Research findings will be shared across Australia to support broader efforts to protect and recover koala populations.
The project is funded through the Local Environmental Projects Program, supporting community projects that protect and improve the environment. ๐
