Eye in the Sky

I almost forgot I took this image recently at the famous Gostwyck Chapel.

It was a cold, dark night and all I could hear was strange animal noises surrounding me from the nearby farms. Most people will photograph this chapel during the day, myself included, but I couldn't head home without at least one night scape image of it.

The Gatekeepers Cottage.

This old house is on the railway line near Uralla. It is the old railway Gatekeepers house, an icon of the town.

I recently spent 5 nights in camping in Uralla and only got 1 night without clouds. Doing the mad dash around trying to get in as many shots as I could, meant I didn't get the star tracker out, but I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Stargazer and Constellations of the South

Constellations of the South is a set of sculptures representing elements of our southern night sky, alongside the Stargazer.

These statues can be found just off the New England Highway at Uralla in The Glen public reserve. I thought I would do my best to capture them with the stars seeing as though that is what they represent.

It brought to life by local artist Carl Merten, amateur astronomer Charlie Rudd and the Uralla Arts Council.

The project invited sculptors from around the region to respond to circumpolar constellations visible in Uralla’s night sky.

The first two sculptures were installed in 2004 and work was completed in 2024.

Same Tractor

Enjoyed a trip to Uralla NSW last week and managed to get 1 night (the last one) that wasn't raining or completely clouded out.

This tractor was actually in the showground I was staying and decided to light paint it before I went to bed about 50m away.
