stumbled upon this waterhole after driving a few hundred kilometres on a high clearance, 4wd only, remote dirt road somewhere in the middle of the territory. an hour or two before the 2wd lorry we decided to take on this adventure gave up and we found ourselves sand bogged. shot on the trusty old rolleicord, developed and scanned by Lumina Labs

I love so much revisiting old photos, discovering outtakes I’d forgotten about and being reminded of the many adventures my camera has taken me on. This one was from five years ago when a bunch of concrete cowboys descended upon the little country town of Nhill for three days to make visuals for Ben’s album. We all stayed at the motel, which is also home to the largest collection of pinball machines in Australia. We drank tequila and danced in the motel car park and drove my little convertible as the sun came up, singing along to the Rolling Stones and trying not to freeze in the wind. Ben rode a horse across the plains in his gold suit and all the locals came down to the motel in the afternoon to see what shenanigans the blow-ins were up to. What a privilege to be able to capture a record of all the wonderful little moments in time and be reminded ✨

little pub in Ouyen, just down the road from the bakery that serves a vanilla slice which then premier Jeff Kennett declared the best he’d ever eaten back in 1998. My review is that Kennett was a bit overly optimistic, but it still goes alright
