A bookmark is a deliberate decision you make. It represents something of value; curiosity, aspiration, research, or delayed action. You mark a place to come back to, or to continue on from. It creates order amongst chaos - you don’t need to search to find it again.

“To be continued… “… my father achieved much more than most people during his 76 years on earth, yet I feel that he died without completing everything that he wanted to. He may have needed 8 lifetimes to do it all, but perhaps even that wouldn’t have been enough.

When is it enough though?

This photograph is part of a larger body of work that I photographed in December 2025 of bookmarks in one of my father’s books. Taking these photographs helped me in my grief after losing him unexpectedly in July last year. I felt connected to him in some way.

Here are some pics from the Leki electric motorcycle shoot last week. The brief was to make the bike look sexy, so I devised a plan using only a single Profoto B30 light to achieve this. To be honest, it wasn’t hard to get an already good looking bike to look great in photographs, but that comes from experience, I guess.

The video that shot at the same time with the same light as the stills shoot is absolutely smoking, and I’ll share that soon.

These are my favourite images from the shoot.

Having my motorcycle license, I could not resist taking the bike for a spin after the shoot, and I am most impressed! The bike has got some serious grunt. If you’re a motorcycle rider, don’t look past these bikes!

Check out the Nyland Prize exhibition at the National Wine Centre until the 31st of October. I am a 2 x finalist in this years photography prize with the theme 'Beauty'.

The prize announcement was last Friday night which I attended with my mother and my two sons. They announced the Kennedy Prize and the Nyland prize on the same night. Congratulations to Simone Osborne - the winner of the Nyland Prize for photography with her stunning macro photograph titled 'Seeds of Silence', and also to Sarah Anthony for winning the Kennedy Prize for paintings with her piece titled 'The Jigsaw'.

Being a finalist in an art prize is always a nice feeling and to be amongst many other fine artists with their stunning artworks.

Also check out the painting prize exhibition at the RSASA Gallery until the 21st of September.

D ‘ ETACHED - Portrait of Gill Hicks AM MBE

This extraordinary portrait captures the complexity of Powerful Vulnerability, the tension that connects restraint and freedom. The balance is grounded in the ability to choose, to allow the unwanted change to consume and inform life going forward, or to mentally own the change, directing the reaction and response.

Last year I had the honour and privilege to meet and photograph Jane Goodall at a private event in Adelaide. At 90 years old at the time, she insisted on taking the stairs instead of the lift. As the gentleman that I am, I walked with her up the stairs (just in case) and at the top of the stairs she turned and said something to me that made me realise that whilst she has done, and continues to do such amazing things for the world we live in, she is just a human being. Her mere presence inspires countless people to make positive changes to their own environment. She is still touring the world to inspire others even now!

She smiled at me and said “you’re bonkers” when I asked her if she’d like to photobomb my ongoing self-portrait-a-day project.

What an absolute legend.

Happy 91st birthday, Jane! 🎉

Thanks to , , and for the amazing lighting. I used 7 lights to light this scene. The amazing greenery was put together by .

Thanks to the generosity and kindness of Joanna and Richard Collins for bringing everything together and getting me involved. I’m so grateful and appreciate you both 🙏

We often show only parts of ourselves on social media, hiding behind shadows, just like the object in this photo. A Perfect Circle’s song ‘By and Down the River’ captures this perfectly with the line, ‘moving in and out of the shadow, it’s no easy mission, hanging onto how I picture you.’

We hold onto the version of ourselves we want others to see, but there’s always more hidden in the shadows.

I almost fell up the stairs when I saw this shadow.

Felt like this today 💤. 1 week post op, working from home, can’t wait to get back into the full swing of things.

This pic taken in Thailand in 2017 of a sleeping young monk at an unknown temple. Came across it after looking through the archives.
