Not all we wished. A march through the city I'll start this final blog post by saying this is not all we had planned for Barcelona. It was amazing to see Jane after 8 days. Dog Days! A super cold day in Sweden with a high of -10* and a low of -17°. Of course, on the Torne River, expect to have a wind chill of considerably less. Meeting after breakfast, as the sun was rising, we were met by 2 Dog Sleds and about 20 Dogs. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be dog sledding....

Pack, move, unpack. Off to the Aurora Camp near Kiruna. Nothing much happening today, just trying to fit everything into the suitcase, plus the massive size 1,000 boots, and the oversize overalls (x10) into the cars that are already bulging with people, bags, photography equipment. Thankfully, Peter had a trailer with his snowmobile and we managed to take it all... I think....

So on this particular Thursday, we decided to change the scene by changing countries. Off to Narvik in Norway. History Lesson: Narvik is steeped in history, named as such due to its merchant shipping port. Knarr 'merchant ship' & vík 'inlet'. The port of Narvik never freezes due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream, There is evidence of Viking settlements in Narvik, but not much is known about this....

It's funny how you lose memory after a short time. Because this was only 10 days ago, and I may have forgotten some details and have to rely on my photos. So doing so, means this will be a quite short post. But that doesn't mean this was not a spectacular day. There are these things called "Ice Sculptures". I'm not talking about carvings, which can be beautiful, and real works of arts, I am talking about those that happen in Nature....

Fort George, High Tea, a dreary day. It's funny how a day goes by quickly when there is only 6-7 hours of actual daylight. You try and cram a fair bit in when you can. First photo. Wake up at 8am and foggy. Today was a bit like our drive into the highlands but we kept it local. It's the first time we ate out (by ourselves) on pretty much the entire trip....

We had actually been on the move pretty much since we left Launceston. Sleep deprived, mainly for the first time going abroad we hadn't been able to settle. Maybe it was because Sunrise was around 9am, and Sunset was around 4pm. Far different from the 4:30 am to 9pm days in Sunny and warm Tasmania... So we had a rest day....

Okay, So I left off as we were heading to Heathrow Airport. A perfect drive back, except for maybe 3 or 4 wrong turns into and out of Carparks (costing us £'s as we left the carpark, 30 seconds later). But other than that, we had the best time in the Sofitel at Terminal 5 having our free drinks, plus more and several Tapas items from the bar menu....
