One of our most iconic Australian animals, the koala is officially listed as endangered in NSW, QLD and the ACT. This is due to destruction of habitat as humans increase numbers and our never ending need to consume. Here in Victoria there are very healthy populations but they are spread out across the state in little patches that are extremely vulnerable to fire. This little dude is at Kennett river , an area that is so dry it would be wiped out so fast if a fire hit the region again. Fingers crossed. They are so chilled out and gorgeous, I always make a detour to go see them when going thru Kennett . What’s not to love?
