"Tchum Lake, near Birchip". c1907 Few creases from handling.
Printed and tinted view. H & B post card.
Zoom in for a 'close-up' Seems to be horses tied up everywhere - probably taken on a "Picnic Day". Buggies in the distance too. Lake is pretty full in this view.
Has a very faint "Good Luck" with sparkles across the view. Worn off from handling. Card survived.

What a wonderful scene from the days of town events like this. Wagons and kids - ladies dressed up and men in suits.
Lovely area around Lake Tchum - been there. Trees & water!
Description on back. "Best wishes for Xmas". Flo sent it.

Possibly by Williams of Ararat with the note on photo and number.
Real photo c1910 - dated on the back when sent 1916.
Homes in background and water supply tank. Looks low?

"Methodist Church, Birchip". Unknown maker - generic back.
Love the 2 pole timber bell tower and the light over the entrance gate. Whole scene is very rural and fence needs work.
On the back is scrawled "Allcocks Plaster" in ink, and a couple of names with appointment dates for a doctor - I think the card was used as a note book.

Both real photos by unknown person.
They show the original Shire Office (bell tower out back - fire station??) the next store/house (with verandah) which has gone, and finally, the currently still-standing brick building next to it.
Love the early cars here.

Printed card - average quality card c1906. Not so clear.
Titlerd "Souvenir of Birchip" the lower view was known as the "Toorak" part of Birchip I believe.

Group out front may be officials, or just some locals? Nice corner street lamp. Says "Post & Telegraph Office, Telephone Bureau"
