One last night in Tokyo before heading back home tomorrow, so I set out with the aim to find some pedestrian overpasses hoping to get some light trails. Unfortunately none of the three I had researched worked out - two were closed for construction, and the 3rd was garbage cause you had to shoot through glass which had wire re-enforcing.
So ultimately I just wandered around, mostly playing with my new 50mm to experiment with bokeh. And found some cool bars at Golden G*i.

What an incredible day - got SO lucky with the weather today. Pretty much uninterrupted views of Mt Fuji all day, with just a few clouds passing by in the afternoon.

Last 2 days I've spent skiing in Hakuba, so I wasn't taking too many photos. But today I took the bus up to the Snow Monkey Park, which was incredible - not just because of the monkeys, which are obviously super cute and chaotic, but also the amazing landscape up there!
If you ever get a chance to do this, do yourself a favour and wander away from the crowds a bit - not only is it much more peaceful, but you're rewarded with some amazing sights!

Quick stop in Kanazawa, but definitely worth it! No way near as busy as Kyoto, but has a more quiet charm, and everything is so much closer together. And WAY less steep hills to climb...
Absolutely LOVED the Kenrokuen Garden next to the castle - which unfortunately was being completely re-assembled so not much to look at, but I suppose it has to be done ;)
Omicho Market was also great - again smaller and WAY less crowded than Nishiki Market in Kyoto, and MUCH cheaper too!

Day 8 - Kyoto.Really glad I got up there super early as I avoided the worst of the crowds early on in the Gion District ...

Day 8 - Kyoto.
Really glad I got up there super early as I avoided the worst of the crowds early on in the Gion District and Sannen-Zaka Path / Hokaniji Temple area.
Snowed on and off all day but wasn't enough to really stay on the ground much - only up above the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.
Nishiki Market was frigg'n awesome too - got me some Kobe Wagyu, lots of Tempura, and an amazing knife to take home.
Picking up a hire car tomorrow to visit a more natural area - Akame 48 Falls walk.
