Noarlunga Camera Club – 2nd March 2026
Join us for an inspiring and practical presentation by Peter Hunt and discover just how powerful the camera in your pocket really is.

Camera technology integrated into our personal mobile phone has put low-cost high quality digital imaging at the fingertips for more of us than ever before. There is now an ever-growing interest in recording nature, starting in our back gardens, to record those less observed things we may discover as a professional or hobbyist, all with our mobile phones.

Peter has a lifelong career working for the scientific, medical and industrial divisions at Olympus Optical as a micro-imaging systems specialist. This depth of experience gives him a unique insight into how small cameras see the world — and how we can use them creatively and effectively.

This presentation aims to pass on some of his experiences, sharing tips and techniques to help you improve your phone photography abilities. You’ll learn how to spot great images in everyday places, make the most of light and composition, and turn simple captures into photographs with real impact.
Whether you’re new to photography, a dedicated camera user, or simply curious about what your mobile phone can achieve, this is a night not to be missed.

Hi all after Monday Nights a couple of members were hand holding their phone for long exposures. Here are two options for mounting your phone in a stable manner to obtain longer exposures with out camera movement.
1 Two Bulldog clips
2 A phone holder Readerly available on eBay or in a camera shop
