Some of the greatest privileges of this job aren’t the weddings themselves, they’re the families you get to walk alongside over time.

I’ve had the honour of photographing this family multiple times. Watching their children grow from teenagers into young adults, and now having been there for both of their weddings and it’s been an absolute blessing.

The way they love each other and do life together is something I’ve been quietly witnessing for years now.

That’s not lost on me. Not even a little bit.

When the couple ask for an unplugged ceremony but some people decide it doesn’t apply to them that’s where vendors come in. And yes, people do it all the time. Even after a sign and a celebrant announcement.
Don’t be a dog 😂

I love winter, I really do. But it does make me miss sunsets like this one.

Bronte and Thom were exactly my kind of couple, genuine, caring, completely down to earth. Two people just being honest with each other and themselves. That’s all I ever need.

Considering the downpour the day before, I think we both appreciated this sunset a little more than usual.

If you’re worried about feeling emotional on your wedding day, whether that’s tears, laughter, or somewhere in between, maybe I’m not for you.

But if you want someone who will support you through all of it, guide you with enough space to just be yourself, and document the first day of your marriage the way it actually felt?

I’m here for that.

I’ll be honest, when I found out the father of the groom was also the best man, I wasn’t sure how it would work.
Would it feel awkward? Forced?
It didn’t. And I’d do every bit of it again for this one shot.
Most of the time I’m watching parents look at their child as the person they love walks down the aisle toward them. But this was different. This was a father standing beside his son, watching his son receive his bride.

A father watching a father watch his son receive his bride.

I don’t think I’ll forget that one in a hurry.
