What a week! Big life events can leave you feeling a little small-in-frame (pun totally intended) and I'd have to say packing up house after 27 years under the one roof was a lot bigger than I thought it would be 😛 So relieved the main part is done with all belongings safely tucked in storage and keys handed over to the new owners ... phew!! Onto the next chapter and finally a chance to go birding - when my muscles recover from moving those massive garden pots I'm never buying again😝Can't wait to catch up with my lovely - and patient - mentorship students and get back to my neglected YouTube channel! I could hear the 'keek keek keek' of a young Brown Goshawk who was calling repeatedly across the river not far from home, but it took me a couple of weeks to finally get a proper sighting in the tall trees 😍 Birds of prey have such a commanding presence that demands your undivided attention

The elegant 'Alu' (or biawak) - a local Balinese name for an Asian water monitor. There were several of these beautiful, but somewhat elusive creatures lounging around by the pool during quiet times. I managed to sneak up on a few with the camera during my stay at This is a younger and smaller one.

Did I regret taking my camera to breakfast, much to the amusement of fellow diners at beautiful Puri Dajuma Beach, Eco-Resort & SPA, West Bali, when this beauty came flying past - no I did not! 😆 I think this juvenile White-bellied Sea Eagle was almost regretting this large fish though - he was noticeably out of breath trying to get it back to his lair 😄
