When working with families, one thing I'm always doing is reading your child to gauge when they are DONE. I've learnt that toddlers and babies have an itty bitty window of energy before they become overstimulated and overtired.

And yes, photoshoots are SUPER stimulating. Suddenly we're all playful to get them to smile. It's a lot.

So how do I work around this? Easy. Let them sit and wind down or wander for a little bit (within arms reach of course). I'll take this time to get some "mum and dad only" photos.

If they're ready to come back, great! If not, all good, we'll all walk around, explore the area and snap some photos along the way. The point is to follow their lead.

If you're new here, you're probably wondering what the hell I even shoot...because it looks like a little bit of ✨️everything✨️

And you'd be kind of right 🤷‍♀️

Here's how I see it: I shoot unfiltered joy. This kind of unfiltered joy shows up with couples. In families. In your brand. At events. My whole experience is based around helping YOU bring that out. I myself am mildly unfiltered and I always want to make sure YOUR experience with me brings joy.

So, am I for everyone? Yes. And no. If you're after a high-end fashion editorial style shoot, I am probably not your gal.

But if you value authenticity over perfection, want to look like YOURSELF and remember genuine connection when looking back - you've found me 💅

This shoot had me a little nervous in the beginning - wasn't sure if the weather was going to play ball, BUT we pulled through (mostly) unscathed.

Winter time is such a good time of year, even for beach photos! Less crowds, (mostly) good weather, earlier sunsets - great for families with toddlers - and a reason to rug up

Today I was reminded by this sweet baby girl, that the kids will do what THEY want to do...and in photoshoots, that's literally one of the BEST things to do 🥹

You can also just take the hair-tie off your wrist 🤷‍♀️

If my husband can suck it up for an hour, your partner can do the same.

If I need to hold your hand while we do this, so be it. I don't mind acting like a di****ad if it helps you shake off the awkies.

People crave authenticity these days, so you should never be apologetic about letting your personality shine through.

It took me a few years to realise that the polished version of me wasn't going to be sustainable. I love humour, I love being a bit sassy and I LOVE making my clients feel like friends. Because that's how I see you!

So why should YOUR photos be any different? It's literally no one's business but yours, so there's no real right or wrong about how YOU choose to present yourself. Tell ya what though, doing something wild would be super fun 👀
