It just took me 5 minutes to figure out how to create a post, that’s how long it’s been since I last did one 😅 But hi, hello 👋🏽 Happy 2026! This year has been a mish mash of things over here; lots of beautiful sessions, a big holiday to NZ, the coolest mentoring creative session (can’t wait to share!) and I’ve got some really exciting things coming up, including a dreeeeeeeam wedding booking down south, another little trip to NZ for friends wedding and hopefully we’ll get around to doing those renos at home! This session was from a while back, a spring wander through the bush for some creek splashes and a spot of sunset watching from up on the rocks with some of my favourite clients - turned friends! I love relaxed sessions like this, outdoors in nature listening to the bird song and trickling stream while we just plod along chatting and snapping away. The best!

Mon and R 🤍 These two showed me around their little town and one of their favourite creek spots that they loved to spend time at. It had been raining soooooo much that the creek was more like a river but we had fun all the same. We started with picture books and ended up getting soaked dancing in the rain 😍

Some snaps from the Polly Jane workshop I attended in October 2024 😍😅 We were all so lucky to have incredible models on the day and I was lucky enough to already know Taryn and her babies, one of my favourite photos of ever is of Taryn and it’s on my feed a little further down (or maybe it’s pinned, I can’t remember!) Here are a couple of my new faves of them, all as a family, enjoying a Perth sunset, having fun and splashing around in the ocean

What started as a little family date to document getting ice cream, ended up as a roaming adventure and the most beautiful one at that! Rambling vines, an old fire station and the cutest cottages seemed to appear out of nowhere to make the best back drops as the kids wandered and I just snapped along the way. If you have littles who are full of adventure, this can be a really beautiful way to have photos done without the pressure of posing.

A golden afternoon with this beautiful return family in the field ❤️ You’d almost never know that this session was a bit chaotic, but that was one of the parts that made it turn out so wonderful! I love that all the kids were able to be themselves; one more wild, one more timid, one who didn’t really want to be there and one who was pretty happy with whatever. Lots of love, some simple prompts, a bit of letting the kids choose what they wanted to do and voila, a beautiful, wholesome and unique family session.

Our babies all grow up so fast. I know we all know they do, it feels like some kind of strange magic that happens before your eyes sometimes. One day they’re tiny and the next thing you know they have gappy smiles and long gangly limbs but it was only just yesterday that you were muddling away trying to find your rhythm together. I know the years all just merged into this messy, fast timeless time when my kids were little…I took so many photos of them but there are hardly any of me with them and I’ll always regret it. There’s no beautiful bump photos or pics of us lovingly gazing at each other and I so wish I’d made the time to book pics of us so I could proudly hang them on my walls now because they’ve grown and changed so much and they weren’t actually little for that long 🥺

Today my dad would have been 65. I always think of him on his birthday (and every day) but today it felt different because today would have marked retirement for him back home in NZ. It seems so crazy to me that we often wait until we are older to really enjoy things we love or make the time and effort to do the things we always wanted to do. Sometimes life is short, just do the things ❤️
