As I write this, I keep thinking about how photography has never really been a “need”.

You do not need photos in the same way you need groceries.

But I think about how often I hear someone say, “I’m so glad we have these.”

Not because the photo is perfect. Usually it is because something changed. Maybe your kid suddenly looks taller than you remembered. A friend moved across the country. Someone you love is no longer here. Sometimes a season of life ends so quietly that you do not realize it until you are already missing it.

I think that is why photography matters to me so much, because some things deserve to be remembered the way they actually felt.

What’s on a wedding day?
I showed up in the morning and didn’t put the camera down until almost midnight.
Everything in between the prep, the dress, the rings, the first look, the family moments that catch you completely off guard, the ceremony, the reception, the dance floor going from calm to chaos
Weddings move fast. And most of it, you won’t remember the way you think you will.

That’s what I’m there for.
To capture it while you’re busy living it.

No wedding is perfect.
I’ve never seen one go completely according to plan, and I’ve shot a lot of weddings. Even with an event organizer. Even with family and friends running around helping. Something always happens.

Someone important is late. A decoration isn’t finished. The timeline starts falling apart by noon. And yes, I’ve seen someone show up without their wedding ring. That actually happened!

The chaos is real. It throws off your mood. It stresses you out in the middle of the most important day of your life.

But here’s the thing: a few years from now, those are the stories you’ll be laughing about at dinner.
So let it go.
Be present.
You’re about to marry your person, that part never goes wrong.
Whatever happens on the day, it’s all part of your story. And it’s going to be a good one :)

I hear it sometimes, “Photography is so expensive.”
You’re not wrong. It’s an investment.
But so are the memories: those cost a lot more when they’re gone.
Memories are more “expensive”
You can’t reshoot the day your dad walked you down the aisle. You can’t go back to that first look. You can’t redo the moment your best friend ugly-cried during your vows.
Here’s what I’ve learned after shooting weddings for years — nobody ever looks back and wishes they spent less on photos. They wish they had more of them.
The flowers are gone. The cake is gone. The dress is in a box.
The photos are still on your wall.

Colors on colors, and these two just teasing each other.
Half the time I was taking photos, half the time I was just laughing behind the camera.
Good company, nice weather, way too much food after, and definitely a memorable day!

10/10 recommend just letting them burn off the energy. It’s way less stressful than bribing them to smile, and the footage actually looks like them. 🧸🖍️✨

A Sangjit is such a beautiful. Our favorite thing is capturing the quiet moments in between, like those quick, subtle glances to check in with each other while everything is unfolding. 🤍

POV: Han & Mey took me to a tulip festival 🌷
The sun was out, the mountains were showing off in the background, and there were fields of color everywhere. Meanwhile, these two were cheesy-flirting, with the occasional dad joke that had me smiling and scrunching my face at the same time. Spending the day with them was so much fun, adventurous, and exciting. We ended the day in a full-on food coma!

Mums are usually the ones taking the photos, which means they rarely get to actually be in them. We always love getting them in front of the camera and just letting them hang out with their kids for a bit. Happy Australian Mother’s Day to all the mums 🤍
