So today I woke up to a cheeky smiley 8 month old, I went for a run with my eldest, I baked ANZAC biscuits with my boys, I soaked up the sunshine at Scarborough beach with my best friend and our families, we got ice cream - it was delicious! We got home and I gamed with my husband and kids, all before we went to church and sat down to eat dinner as a family. Finally we will sneak in watching the freo match before I put my kids to bed.
It’s been a wonderful day.
You might think why is she telling us all this?!
Today I wanted to really reflect on what I did. What I get to do, because of the ANZACs - these simple things that I got to do. With my family, and my friends. Because of those who sacrificed their lives for us, to live how we live.
I didn’t want to write something first thing - to get it quick - to write something generic. I wanted something from the heart, so I waited so I could really reflect on the simple things, which are actually amazing things - that I am grateful and thankful for and that I get to do because of the freedoms we have in this country.
To the ANZACs…
Thank you for the simple things, the wonderful things.
