Some photos are beautiful… and some become family treasures. ✈️💙
As a photographer, I absolutely love photographing children — especially my grandsons, who have completely stolen my heart (and most of my camera roll 😍).
Nearly 3 years ago, when big brother J turned 2, Oupie lovingly designed and built the most incredible little plane for his birthday photo shoot. It became such a special part of our family memories.
Fast forward to E, my 3rd eldest grandson, turning 2… and there was that same plane in the garage, ready for another adventure. Mummy had once said she’d love to recreate a similar shoot for E, but life got busy and she forgot.
Then the day before his birthday — while I was on Ouma duty — I suddenly remembered! ✨
So off I rushed for outfits for them, and pulled together a surprise photo session for the boys.
And oh my heart… it was SO worth it. 🥹
When mummy walked into my study and saw the photos, she burst into tears — and trust me, she’s not usually the teary type. Her happy tears were the greatest gift I could have received.
Hubby always says I’m the memory maker in our family… and honestly, I couldn’t love that title more. ❤️
This is also my reminder to every parent and grandparent: please don’t neglect capturing your family, your little ones, and even the ordinary everyday moments.
Because these photos become more valuable than gold. 💛
