Worried about the weather forecast before your maternity session? ⛈️

So were we before this one, so we rescheduled to the week after. Even then, we weren't quite sure which day to pick, but we got there eventually!

This time of year in Perth the weather is unpredictable until about 24 hours before, and trust me - I check, and check and check ALL the weather reports a week, five days, three days, 48 hours and 24 hours in advance 🙃😅

I always have spots saved in my calendar to reschedule due to rainy/stormy/windy weather, especially for time sensitive maternity sessions (you won't stay pregnant forever!), and will always get you in as a priority.

If you're up for a rain-soaked session hey, let's do it, but most people aren't, funnily enough ☔️

These two enjoyed a pretty magical afternoon on the river after we rescheduled. Chilly, yes, but mostly sunny!

Dancing optional, but I'll always ask 💃🕺

Contrary to popular belief, family photos don't require everyone to smile at the camera for an hour 🥱

Your kids can run, explore, cuddle, climb on you, collect sticks they absolutely MUST bring home... and somehow, those always end up being the photos you love most 🤷‍♀️

One of the questions I get asked most is "But what if my toddler won't sit still?" 🫠

Honestly? I don't want them to.

The best family photos don't come from perfectly behaved kids standing in a neat little line looking at the camera. They come from giggles, cuddles, exploring, snack breaks, silly games, running back for one more hug, and all those little moments in between.

I spend far more time watching than posing. I'm looking for the way your little one reaches for your hand, the way Nanna makes them laugh, the cuddles they give Dad without being asked, and the little glances you don't even realise you're sharing.

I'll gently guide you when you need it, but I never expect kids to perform. They get to be exactly who they are.

Because years from now, that's what you'll want to remember 🧡

(And yes, this little whirlwind absolutely nailed it during her fam's mini session!)
